Ubisoft Reportedly Hasn’t Cancelled The Splinter Cell Remake

Fear not, Splinter Cell fans. It appears that the planned Splinter Cell Remake is not dead. In fact, it apparently is "making progress," despite a noticeable lack of updates since its initial reveal.

Information about Splinter Cell's status comes by way of Insider Gaming's Mike Straw, who reports that the remake is still in development. With a lack of information, many wondered if the game had been quietly canceled, however, that is reportedly not the case.

Per the report, the game has been given the codename "North," and it is being developed in Ubisoft's Snowdrop Engine. That engine has been responsible for The Division, along with last year's Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and this year's Star Wars Outlaws and XDefiant.

As for a potential release, well, that's still in the air. Insider Gaming reports that its sources indicated a potential 2026 launch, though they "didn’t want to be held to that time frame."

Star Wars Outlaws has no business charging over a hundred dollars for Ultimate and Gold editions.
