Fortnite's Rocket Racing Mode Will No Longer Get "Themed Updates" After Less Than A Year

The latest patch notes for Fortnite's Rocket Racing mode confirm that it will no longer receive "themed updates" despite it being less than a year since it joined the game.

Although 2024 has been a big year for Fortnite thanks to its crossovers with Avatar, Fallout, Metallica, Disney, and a whole lot more, the latest updates have nothing on the mind-blowingly exciting start of Chapter 5, Season 1. Epic teased that it'd represent a new start for the game, and the introduction of Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival meant that it lived up to the promise.

Several games folding into a single metaverse isn't always a good thing.

While all three modes had a pretty decent start, it quickly became clear that they weren't all going to keep fans away from Battle Royale for very long. While Fortnite Festival and Lego Fortnite still draw in decent crowds and have their dedicated audiences, the same can't really be said of Psyonix's Rocket Racing, which has consistently struggled with its player count.
