Way back in 2020, IO Interactive, the studio most notably known for the Hitman franchise, announced that it was working on a game based on Ian Fleming's James Bond character. Dubbed "Project 007," the game aims to be a completely new origin story for the secret agent.
IO Interactive boss Hakan Abrak revealed a few specifics in a new interview. According to Abrak, it's not a "gamification of a movie," and his teamwill introduce a "new Bond."
When Will IO Interactive Reveal Project 007?
While Abrak has no date to share for when they'll reveal the studio's James Bond game, the studio boss did say that they will be "talking about it soon," In addition to that very vague statement, Abrak states that production is going "amazingly well," and that there's "a lot of cool stuff coming."
Hopefully, "soon" means before the end of the year, given that we're nearing four years of knowing the game's in development without actually seeing a second of gameplay. Aside from Project 007, IO Interactive is also working on a still-untitled online fantasy RPG while the Hitman franchise is on hiatus.
