Alan Wake 2's Lake House DLC Is Launching Next Week

Alan Wake 2 got its first DLC expansion earlier this year, bringing us three new stories and letting players take on the roles of Rose, Sheriff Breaker, and Jessie Faden from Control. It was a neat little detour, and one that allowed Remedy to experiment with all kinds of themes and genres, but the game's second planned DLC promises to be a lot spookier and grounded.

We knew before today that The Lake House would be launching at some point this October, though news about the expansion's plot has been pretty thin on the ground. The game's FAQ page on its official website didn't divulge too much info, and even the most recent trailer didn't give away anything, as all we know is that "something goes wrong" in a secret facility underneath Cauldron Lake and the Dark Place is once again involved.

The game's conclusion doubles down on the things it does so well.
