Life is Strange fans really aren't happy about Double Exposure's treatment of Chloe and its depiction of what happened to the two of them after the events of the first game.
One of the biggest things that made the original Life is Strange stand out from the crowd (aside from its time-rewinding powers, of course) was its focus on the relationship between Max and Chloe. While the two could just be best friends, it's generally agreed that they're one of gaming's best couples and are clearly set up to be more than BFFs.
Fans have strong (and conflicting) feelings about Max and Chloe, and it would be tough for any developer to please them all.
With that in mind, Life is Strange: Double Exposure has had a massive weight on its shoulders from the moment it was first revealed to be bringing back Max for another adventure. With Chloe nowhere in sight and the two massively different endings hanging over Max's head in the ten years that have passed since her time at Arcadia Bay, there were a lot of questions that needed to be answered.
