Vault 13, a fan-made Fallout 1 remake built from the ground up within Fallout 4, announced earlier today that the project had been cancelled due to "burnout" and "difficulty in recruiting".
Throughout its development, the team shared assets with the fan-made Fallout 2 remake, Project Arroyo. Given this close relationship, I reached out to Project Arroyo to ask if Vault 13's closure had any effect on its own future.
We talked to the Project Arroyo lead all about the fan-made Fallout 2 remake, discussing the Highwayman, Frank Horrigan, going open world, and more.
"It doesn't impact our mod at all luckily," project lead Damion Daponte told TheGamer. "Some of the 3D artists actually came over from [Vault 13] to our [team] so they can continue having something to work on."
Similar concerns were raised within the Project Arroyo Discord server about whether the cancellation of Vault 13 spelled the end of this fan-made Fallout 2 remake. But lead dialogue editor 'Jon' simply said, "We're not going anywhere."
