One of the most popular games in the world finally has a native version on the PlayStation 5. Minecraft finally has a native version for the PS5. If you're confused because you've already been playing it on your console, that's the PS4 version of the game simply running on the PS5. The native version is built and tuned to specifically take advantage of the current-gen console's capabilities.

A Minecraft Movie is yet another fish-out-of-water story.

The PS5 edition of the game is available now on the PlayStation store (thanks Eurogamer), and is a free update if you already owned the PS4 version of Minecraft. The main difference is that it will leverage the PS5's current-gen technology to deliver gameplay at 60fps with 4K visuals.

As mentioned above, the more advanced tech of the PS5 will make the game look and run better, but besides that, two new features have been added to Minecraft's Bedrock edition today.
