The Day Before will forever be one of video game's biggest catastrophes. Multiple delays, shifty gameplay footage, and strange dev comments led to doubts that the game was even real, and that was before it had even launched.
Its launch was even more disastrous. The game offered refunds and shut down within less than a week, leaving players feeling like they'd just been scammed.
The Day Before developer Fntastic is back, and is blaming the game's failure on "excessive marketing" and "overly ambitious goals".
Nine short months later, Fntastic, the studio behind The Day Before, returned, shamelessly asking for money to fund a new game. Now, they've decided actually, that game isn't going to work, postponing it indefinitely, announcing another new game instead.
In a worrying show of conviction, Fntastic released a statement saying that Escape Factory, the new 'prop hunt' game it was trying to fund through Kickstarter, was "unlikely to reach our goal". Because of this, the team has decided to "postpone it until a more appropriate time," canceling the crowdfunding in the process.
This is exactly what many of you have been waiting for.
It's not all bad news for all the Fntastic fans out there, though....
