Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown Devs Send "Thank You" Message To Fans

By now you've likely heard the news that the team at Ubisoft Montpellier, the group behind Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, has been officially disbanded. News of their disbandment came after reports suggested that the team had pitched expansions and sequels to its Metroidvania title.

As a result, Ubisoft has shifted developers to "other projects that will benefit from their expertise," according to a statement provided to Eurogamer. In that same Eurogamer report, Ubisoft seemingly did not contradict reports that a Lost Crown sequel was not greenlit due to poor commercial success.

Now, in a new statement shared on Twitter, Senior Producer Abdelhak Elguess has taken the time to thank fans for supporting the title, while also affirming that Ubisoft still has future plans for the Prince of Persia franchise.

"I'm extremely proud of our team's work and passion at Ubisoft Montpellier to create a game that resonated with players and critics alike, and I am confident in its long-term success," the statement read in part. "... We know players have a love for this brand and Ubisoft is excited to bring more Prince of Persia experiences in the future."
