Randy Pitchford Suggests Borderlands 4 Has Seamless Loading

Back in August, one of the gaming industry's worst-kept secrets — Borderlands 4 — was finally revealed via a minute-long trailer at Gamescom Opening Night Live. In that same trailer, a 2025 launch window was confirmed, making it the first mainline Borderlands game in roughly five years.

However, in the time since then, details about the game have been extremely scarce. We do know that there will be four Vault Hunters, as is tradition, and that they will play on the fantasies that players have. And there was a batch of concept art revealed, too, showcasing a neon-like aesthetic. But outside that, things have been quiet.

Now Gearbox's own Randy Pitchord has taken to social media to tease a highly-requested feature. That feature is seamless loading.

After a disatrous film adaptation and three very similar mainline games, 4 is an opportunity for Borderlands to evolve.

Taking to Twitter, a Borderlands fan reveled in the fact that their brand-new PC was able to load 2012's Borderlands 2 faster than anticipated. That fan mused about the possibility of seamless loading, a feature that could be a “reality someday.”
