Hello Games Takes "Extra Time" To Save Broken No Man's Sky Save Files

No Man's Sky is a game you could arguably spend your entire life playing. It's a sprawling universe filled with countless planets impossible to explore entirely, and then you throw in the game's complex time sink that is base-building. Hello Games also has a habit of dropping frequent free updates, filled with new things to do and see, so you could very easily fritter away thousands of hours in the blink of an eye.

That makes corrupted saves all the more devastating, as there are times in which unforeseen bugs, glitches, and technical errors could see a 1000-hour save file completely ruined. However, Hello Games seems to have made it a goal to make sure that no loyal player has their save file vanish if they can help it, as No Man's Sky engine programmer Martin Griffiths recently explained on Twitter that the studio takes "extra time" to personally fix massive save files that are under threat.

In space, no one can hear you tryhard.

As for why Hello Games actually devotes resources to this, Griffiths says that it's all about loyalty, and that players that have spent so much time in the game "deserve the engineering fix"....
