Red Dead Redemption finally launched on PC yesterday after 14 years, and already mods are pouring in that take the game even further.

Further in the past? A bit into the first game's future? There's kind of a hard wall in the chronology, given the subject matter, which is partly why I'd be totally fine with there never being a third game. And yet...

RDR Reimagined is one such mod, which offers "Remastered Graphics" through overhauled lighting and post processing effects.

Using ReShade, it implements temporal anti-aliasing, global illumination, bloom, volumetric lighting, specular highlights, an RDR2 style sky, reflections, depth of field, motion blur, and an optional cinematic letterbox. You can see all of these tweaks in action in the above image.

If you want to take things even further, there's also a mod which unlocks the 60fps cap, allowing you to play beyond 65fps. It works a treat on a powerful enough PC, but using it on the Steam Deck is ill-advised.

With a higher framerate and some fancy post-processing effects, the next step is naturally higher-resolution textures. Already, there's a mod that implements more detailed particle effects. Given that it launched the same...
