Game Freak Hack Finally Reveals What Mimikyu Looks Like After Eight Years

Mimikyu is a Ghost/Fairy type that first appeared in Pokémon Sun & Moon, in the seventh generation of Pokémon. The diminutive ghost appears beneath an old rag that resembles a Pikachu, offering it a crafty disguise.

Several of Mimikyu's Pokédex entries make reference to how terrifying its true appearance is, and how the rag is necessary to protect others. "Its actual appearance is unknown. A scholar who saw what was under its rag was overwhelmed by terror and died from the shock," reads Mimikyu's entry in Pokémon Sun. "A gust of wind revealed what hides under this Pokémon's rag to a passing trainer, who went home and died painfully that night," states Mimikyu's entry in Pokémon Ultra Moon.

Other Pokédex entries are less morbid, instead saying that Mimikyu took on a disguise to try and look less threatening to others in order to befriend them. For an authoritative encyclopedia that's supposed to give trainers insights into the Pokémon of the world, the Pokédex tends to peddle conjecture and myths.
