PSA: Pokemon TCG Pocket Is Hiding “God Packs”

For collectors of the Pokemon Trading Card Game, there's no better feeling than opening a "God Pack". These packs are only in certain expansions of the TCG, and every card inside them is one of the set's rarest. There's no way of telling prior if you have a God Pack, but you'll know when the first card you see is something ultra rare.

Plus some Mewtwo-themed items that are also locked behind the app's premium tier.

Now, with Pokemon TCG Pocket rolling out around the world, it seems like The Pokemon Company is hiding another little nod to the physical game, by including these fabled packs.

Cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket are divided into rarities different to those in the physical TCG. They are as follows:

In a normal pack, you have a five percent chance of pulling a rare, roughly two percent for an ultra rare or illustration rare, and less than a one percent chance for anything above that.

In a God Pack, you are guaranteed to pull five cards that have a rarity of one star (illustration rare) or higher, an unreal result compared to the standard packs.
