Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft, dropped some interesting information about the Black Ops 6 sales performance during a quarterly earnings call today.
Earning Calls of Duty
According to Nadella, Black Ops 6 set a new record for day-one players and marked the biggest single increase in Xbox Game Pass claims for a game in the platform's history.
Compared to last year, which saw the mediocre release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Black Ops 6 beat it by 60% when measuring both Steam and PlayStation Store unit sales.
Thanks to the success of Black Ops 6, Activision Blizzard registered a 43% increase in revenue from Xbox sales, relative to Q1 2024.
Nadella credits this success to a "strategy of meeting gamers where they are by enabling them to play more games across the screens they spend more time on."
