It's not new news that Square Enix is aiming to vastly diversify its approach to video game releases. With the costs of development constantly rising, making things exclusive to one console isn't feasible, and so the company affirmed in May that it was changing its practices.
In a financial release, Square said it will "aggressively pursue a multiplatform strategy," that involves the likes of Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony. The end result will be "an environment where more customers can enjoy our titles." And those efforts are already being seen as Final Fantasy 14 was finally released on Xbox.
But as those plans continue to shake out, one of Square Enix's most respected leaders has some thoughts on how he wants things to be done. The legendary Naoki "Yoshi-P" Yoshida revealed in a recent interview that the end goal is for its games to be enjoyed by all at the same time and on the same day.
