Since their announcement in 2022, Remedy has been very forthcoming about the Max Payne 1 and 2 remakes. In April last year, the team said that the remakes had reached the proof-of-concept stage, in October it said that the game had reached the "production readiness stage", and in April 2024, it confirmed the game would be entering full production in Q2, which it did.
Revisiting Remedy's 2001 shooter makes me nostalgic for more than just the games of that era.
Now, as part of a recent investor call, the Finnish studio gave another small update on the games, saying they were "making good progress".
Speaking to investors as part of its Q3 2024 review, Remedy said of the remakes, "Max Payne 1 + 2 Remakes is all the time making good progress in the production phase," adding, "Overall, throughout 2024, our game projects have been advancing at improving speeds."
