Last month, Arrowhead Studios gave Xbox players some hope that Helldivers 2 may eventually come to Microsoft consoles.
"It's literally the only stratagem to include such a restriction, outside of vehicles."
That hope could have just been immediately dashed, however, as insider Shpeshal Nick claims that the port is now "not happening".
Shpeshal Nick has a mixed track record when it comes to advanced information.
In October, Helldivers 2 community manager Thomas "Twinbeard" Petersson said of a potential Xbox port, "It's not up to us but to Sony and Phil [Spencer] to duke out, but hypothetically speaking, if both partners think it would benefit them from a financial/brand standpoint, it could. If Sony believes it won't, though, it won't," sparking some expectation that things could be progressing in the right direction.
Speaking recently on The XboxEra Podcast, industry insider Shpeshal Nick said, "Remember I said in March or April, how I said there were discussions about Helldivers 2 coming to Xbox? The last I heard, it ain't happening now; the last I heard, it's not happening."
