Stardew Valley's massive 1.6 patch is now live on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and mobile platforms. The long-awaited patch was released on PC in March, but console players had to remain patient while Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone worked on bringing the patch to other platforms.
Players widely regard the patch as the 'complete' version of Stardew Valley, as it enhances the game's base systems and adds reams of new content. For example, the skill system has been augmented by a new mastery system which allows you to visit a cave to redeem mastery points and upgrade your skills even more.
The console patch (1.6.9) is even fresher than the 1.6 patch, and features a couple of new additions alongside the 1.6 content outlined below. There's now a friend in the Secret Woods that will sell you back items that you've lost. You can now put legendary fishes in ponds, and they will produce legendary roe. Sam and Shane now have work outfits. You can now place beds in any constructed buildings and finally, there are new easter eggs. The full patch notes are available to read here.
