Dragon Age 4 was officially announced at last year's Game Awards, and there has been no news since. However, Bioware recently put something out on Twitter that seems to suggest we may be hearing about the next game in the franchise on December 4th.
The tweet came out on the 10th anniversary of Dragon Age: Origins, the birth of the franchise. Throughout the day yesterday, many Dragon Age fans were reminiscing on the franchise, particularly where it all began, and Bioware jumped in some too. However, they then put out the tweet linked above.
It's pretty bog standard at first, but the hint that some Dragon Age 4 information will be coming on December 4th is the fact that the "A" in "Age" for Dragon Age was replaced with a "4" in the tweet.
Obviously, no one knows what the information will be, but we it's not a stretch to say we can be expecting some info to come out about the game.
The last title in the franchise, Dragon Age: Inquisition, released 5 years ago, which means that half of the franchise's existence has not seen a new release. The last piece of DLC for Inquisition came out September of 2015, so it has been quite some time since fans had some new Dragon Age content to look forward to.
This is definitely an interesting gap when you think of the amount of time between Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II. Origins released November of 2009, and its big expansion came out March of 2010. Following that, Dragon Age II came out just a year later in March of 2011. Then, of course, Inquisition came out a little over three years later. The development time between Inquisition and Dragon Age 4 is definitely the outlier.
No matter what it may turn out to be, keep an eye out one month from today for some Dragon Age news.
