It has been announced that Hildegard von Krone, better known as Hilde, is coming to Soul Calibur VI. Bandai Namco has released a trailer revealing the upcoming fighter. In the trailer, we see that Hilde will wield both a short sword and a spear, named Glanzende Nova and Frischer Himmel respectively. Her battle style, entitled "Große Erbschaft," allows her to switch between the two weapons seamlessly.

Hilde is a young woman of noble blood who had the responsibilities of her kingdom thrown upon her at a very young age. As the heir to the throne after her father was driven to madness, Hilde was forced to rise up and lead her people. She now fights for the fictional Wolfkrone Kingdom, which is located in the Holy Roman Empire. Hilde will sport the flag of her kingdom on her spear, and will wear a new golden armor. According to the Soul Calibur website, after years of training, Hilde became one of the best warriors of the realm and was therefore a legitimate successor for the throne. She made her first appearance in Soul Calibur IV and has been a staple in the series since.

Hilde will appear in the Soul Chronicle story. There will also be Creation Parts available for her.

Hilde will be the first character to release in Soul Calibur VI's second Season Pass. A release date for the character has not been announced just yet. It has been announced that following Hilde will be guest character Haohmaru from Samurai Shodown, who will also receive Creation Parts. Hilde's reveal trailer showed that there will be two characters to follow after Haohmaru, though their identities have not been revealed just yet. Bandai Namco has stated to "stay tuned" for their reveals.

Soul Calibur VI is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game received an 84 OpenCritic score.
