From the name, to its features, and even what kind of games it will play, we've received no official details, except that it's in the works, and that we'll probably hear about it officially next year. Fans have been wondering what new innovation the company will showcase with the new console.
The Switch has been a huge victory for Nintendo, but the Wii U wasn't that long ago.
However, it seems that Nintendo has changed its mind and has dropped a major detail about the upcoming console. It seems that the "Switch 2" will be backwards compatible, meaning you'll be able to play current Switch games on the next-gen console. That's great, considering the current Switch has been out for so long, and has a massive catalogue.
This information came out only a few hours ago, directly from Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa, who announced this feature on the company's official Twitter account.
