Mass Effect TV Show In Active Development At Amazon

Following in the footsteps of other major game properties, a Mass Effect adaptation is coming soon, as an Amazon TV show.

Some big names are known to be involved in this project, including Micheal Gamble, the current development lead on the next big Mass Effect game. Gamble is taking the roll of producer, as is Avi Arad, who worked on some of the early Marvel adaptations.

But a much more significant role, the executive producer, is Daniel Casey, writer of Fast 9: The Fast Saga, among several other projects.

At this stage, very little is known about the project other than that it is set within the Mass Effect canon. This has left fans in an awkward spot.

On one hand, Mass Effect is a huge, beloved universe, full of possibilities ripe for a show like this.

But on the other hand - with so little known, people have had to speculate on the skill behind these names. A quick browse of forum comments shows each user's concern.

Ari Arad's recent Borderlands movie - something that famously did not go over well with fans of the franchise. Daniel Casey's credits on Fast 9 haven't exactly generated hype, either.
