The Warner Bros. owned studio ensured that its maligned live-service title focused on the eponymous Suicide Squad would receive a dedicated offline mode within the year, however, it has yet to fulfill that promise. With 2024 rapidly coming to a close, it's worth wondering what happened.

When Suicide Squad originally launched in late January, it was confirmed to require an internet connection to play, even for single-player gamers. That made the game not too dissimilar from other always-online titles like The Crew. That said, Rocksteady assured fans that a fix would come at some point.
However, an offline story mode will be added this year, giving players the option to experience the main campaign without an internet connection. More details will be provided at a later date.
