Square Enix Apologizes Over Botched Final Fantasy 14 Hairstyle

Final Fantasy 14 fans have been up in arms over the past few days, ever since the release of Patch 7.1's preliminary patch notes. While there was plenty of good stuff in there, such as the increased Starbird drop chances and the added details to our little piggies, a new hairstyle coming in Patch 7.1 has ruffled a few feathers, one which was "inspired" by a Hairstyle Design Contest winner entry from back in 2023.

The hairstyle was submitted by a player called Madqueenmomo and was titled "Natural Curls", and the design showed off various races from the game sporting the hairstyle, which was slightly short and very curly. It's a cute little hairstyle that looks very different to what we have in the game so far, but any potential excitement turned into anger once Square Enix actually revealed what the hairstyle would look like in the game.
