A new patch is being released for The Outer Worlds, changing font size from being so tiny, as well as a number of other issues.

Patch 1.1.1.0 for The Outer Worlds will allow the player to toggle the font size seen in conversation text, cinematic subtitles, bark subtitles, and terminal text. This fixes a problem that players have had since the game released.

The patch will also fix a number of bugs that have been plaguing The Outer Worlds. PlayStation 4 players should no longer experience a muffled sound. The achievement / trophy for "It's Not the Best Choice" will now pop correctly. The game will no longer crash at a specific point when the player reaches Tartarus. There is also a fix for "Radio Free Monarch" where problems would happen when talking to Nayoka while having SAM in your party.

The new patch will also fix a problem where companions would die, causing a companion quest failure in modes other than Supernova. Foliage on the Xbox One should now have parity with foliage on the PlayStation 4. And finally, the Prismatic Hammer has been fixed to do the damage that it should have been doing all along.

Obsidian has invited players to visit their Technical Support forums to share suggestions for the game. "Thank you for all you patience and understanding, and please continue to share with us anything you come across," Obsidian stated. "You are all amazing, and we are very lucky to have you here with us."

The Outer Worlds is already available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The title will be coming to the Nintendo Switch next year. Publisher Private Division stated that this version will be released during its 2020 fiscal year, meaning that the game will release on the console before March 31st, 2020, when the fiscal year ends.
