The games that kicked off one of the biggest fantasy gaming franchises of all time are returning, as Warcraft I & II have been remastered for the series’ 30th anniversary and released in the Warcraft Remastered Battle Chest.
While the Warcraft series is best known for the long-running MMO it spawned, there is still a huge fanbase for the strategy games that started it all.
Those who long for the old days of Azeroth can now go back, as Blizzard has announced Warcraft Remastered Battle Chest during the 30th-anniversary celebrations for the series, which contains remastered versions of all three games, as well as their respective expansions.
The Warcraft Trilogy Has Been Reborn In The Battle Chest
The remastered Warcraft I & II versions contain updated visuals, with cleaner sprites and backgrounds that look appealing on HD screens. Players also can switch to the original visuals.
The controls in both games have been altered to match modern RTS titles, including box unit selection. Players can also access a mission select screen from the main menu.
Warcraft 2’s online multiplayer is still supported, while old custom maps will still work with the remastered version of th game.
