2024 was an incredibly busy year for Nintendo Switch Online, with some recent data showing that the year saw the highest number of games having been added to the subscription service. Subscribers of Nintendo Switch Online get access to a wide variety of retro games from across Nintendo's library, including the NES, SNES, and Game Boy platforms for the base version, with even more games being accessible for those who upgrade to the Expansion Pack tier. This tier gives subscribers access to games from the Game Boy Advance, Nintendo 64, and even Sega Genesis libraries, giving players access to over 100 different games to play.

In 2024, Nintendo added loads of retro games to this service across all platforms and tiers. Some of the long-requested titles that were added to the service included Banjo-Tooie, two classic F-Zero Game Boy Advance games, and more recently, the entire Donkey Kong Land trilogy.
