Work on Cyberpunk 2077 is presumably wrapped up now, although the reveal of a surprise 2.2 update last week begs to differ, what with The Witcher 4 getting its first proper showing at The Game Awards. Night City won't be left behind for good though and Idris Elba, who joined the game as Solomon Reed in its Phantom Liberty expansion, is pushing for the CD Projekt Red game to get a movie adaptation.
Even though the focus of Elba's interview with Screen Rant was about his return to the big screen as Knuckles in Sonic 3 which hits cinemas this week, the actor spoke excitedly about his work as Reed in Cyberpunk. When asked if he thinks the game would lend itself well to a live-action adaptation, Elba replied, "I think if any film could do a live-action rendition, it could be [Cyberpunk 2077], and I think [Keanu Reeves] character and my character together would be, 'Whoa'. So, let's speak that into existence."
