Remastered versions of PlatinumGames' Vanquish and Bayonetta are coming early next year.
Sega has announced that they will be releasing Vanquish and Bayonetta together in a 10th anniversary bundle on February 18th, 2020. The bundle will include the original Bayonetta and Vanquish, both remastered in 4K resolution and at 60 fps in both digital and physical formats on the PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X. The physical version of the bundle will come in in an embossed SteelBook with brand new art for both games by artist Dan Dussault. Those who buy the bundle digitally on the PlayStation 4 will receive two PlayStation themes for free.
The bundle will cost gamers $39.99. The games can be bought separately if purchased digitally for $24.99 each.
This announcement confirms a listing that was spotted last week. The games were spotted on the Microsoft Store, with a February release date. You can see a trailer for the set below.
Vanquish never received a sequel of any type. The Bayonetta series, on the other hand, is still going strong. The original released for consoles in 2009, and received a sequel in 2014 as a Wii U exclusive. A third entry in the series is in development at the moment, and will once again be a Nintendo exclusive. Bayonetta herself also appeared in both Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a guest character. The franchise also received an anime film in 2013 entitled Bayonetta: Bloody Fate that loosely followed the first game.
This is not the first time that both Bayonetta and Vanquish have received the re-release treatment. Bayonetta was remastered for the Wii U in 2014, PC in 2017, and then for the Nintendo Switch in 2018. After Vanquish released in 2010 on consoles at the time, the game was re-released on PC in 2017.
