Destiny 2's winter event, The Dawning, is back, and is bringing some new items with it.

The Dawning, Destiny's version of the holidays, begins next week. Similar to last year, Guardians will be able to meet up with Eva Levante in order to bake cookies to share with others throughout the solar system. Last year, players received an oven that could be upgraded to earn more rewards and gifts. Guardians were able to combine different ingredients to make different types of treats. It is unknown if this mechanic will be making a return.

During The Dawning, Destiny 2 players will be able to earn a new winter-themed ship and Sparrow. Those that missed the event last year will be able to earn some of 2018's rewards as well. There will also be new holiday-themed items in the Eververse store. Players will be able to buy new emotes, ghost shells, and armor ornaments from Tess with Silver and Bright Dust. Players will also be able to earn a new submachine gun, the Cold Front.

The Dawning is available for free to all players regardless of if they have purchased the latest season or expansion. The Dawning will run from December 17th to January 14th. You can check out a trailer for the upcoming event below.

Destiny 2 released in 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game was recently added to the Google Stadia for those who own Stadia Pro. Earlier this year the game switched over to a free-to-play model. The game's latest season, entitled Season of Dawn, released recently. Players will now be able to take on the new Sundial activity, which requires a team of six. There will be some upgrades to several Solar subclasses. There will also be another special event called the Crimson Days to follow The Dawning. Season of Dawn will run from December 10th to March 9th.
