Crossplay for consoles in Mortal Kombat 11 is on the way in a new patch.

In an upcoming update, Mortal Kombat 11 will support "Krossplay" between the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. According to the Krossplay FAQ, if a player has the Krossplay feature on, they can play against the opposite platform in one of two ways. When players matchmake in Online Kasual modes, the game will now look for the best match across prospective PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players. Designated Krossplay Online Rooms will provide a central location for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players to meet up manually and fight against players on opposite platforms in Online Kombat game modes. Friends on opposite platforms will need to coordinate outside of the game's ecosystem, then meet up with each other in a specific Krossplay Online Room in order to play against each other.

Developer NetherRealm Studios has not given an exact date for the release of Krossplay support. The feature will only be available in Online Kasual game modes. According to the studio, Krossplay is currently in beta form. Players will not be able to transfer their progress in Mortal Kombat 11 across platforms. Krossplay will not be available on Google Stadia, PC, or the Nintendo Switch at this time.

Also included in the upcoming patch is a number of fixes. This includes general gameplay adjustments, fixes to the Towers of Time, and more. The full patch notes can be seen here.

The latest DLC character for Mortal Kombat 11, Sindel, was released last month. She is part of the games Kombat Pack, along with The Joker, Spawn, Terminator T-800, Nightwolf, and Shang Tsung. The Kombat Pack will set players back $39.99, though characters can be purchased separately. So far, Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, Terminator T-800, and Sindel have been released. Joker will be released on January 28th 2020, with Spawn following on March 17th.
