Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can now pick up a free copy of Star Wars Battlefront 2: Celebration Edition for a limited time, thanks to EA Play's ongoing holiday celebrations. Star Wars Battlefront 2 is the latest EA title to be given away throughout the month of December, but the deal is only available until December 20, which means fans looking to add the 2017 title to their library will need to act fast.
After sitting dormant for many years, EA rebooted the Star Wars Battlefront franchise back in 2015, followed by a sequel in 2017. Both titles received mixed reviews at launch, but Battlefront 2 currently has a "very positive" review rating on Steam with over 50,000 user reviews. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Aspyr's recently released Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection, which has a "mostly negative" rating on Steam due to the increased price, small number of servers at launch, and myriad of bugs.
According to multiple reliable sources, Xbox may be busy preparing for a major first-party showcase sometime in January 2025.
