The graphical opulence and fantastic audio design further elevate the remake into a flagship title for the new console generation. While the flaws mentioned prevent it from earning a place on my personal list of the absolute best 'Souls-like' titles, it remains an excellent game and a magnificent remake that can easily be counted among the finest console launch titles ever made.

Most of the time, I simply take joy in playing. In the glowing colours, in the constant praise — even when it sometimes feels undeserved. In the energetic synthwave soundtrack. In the risky grabbing of jewels and daring dodge manoeuvres. And, last but not least, in mowing down enemies.

Double Pug Switch is an intense and well-designed auto-runner with exciting level design and interesting bosses. The simple game concept is thoroughly exploited, so the player gets their money's worth across the 40 short but punchy levels.

I can warmly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys solving puzzles and appreciates a strong atmosphere. People who like games with a certain mental health aspect are also well served here.

A Hat in Time is an entertaining 3D Jump & Run with good level design, but partly weak mission design. A special praise deserves the idea of the dive jump, which can be interrupted in mid-air and ensures a great gameplay feeling in more demanding jumping scenes. On the other hand, the game suffers from a very unpleasant camera guidance and especially on the Switch from a doubtful optimization for the console.

Breakpoint focuses entirely on a compact game mode, which also works very well except for individual details. Sometimes it takes a bit too long until the first point multipliers or other weapons appear. Apart from the throws, close combat is pursued completely, and since these cannot be used completely freely, they do not torpedo the game principle. For high score hunters, the game offers a lot of fun, even though the top spots are already very difficult to reach.

All in all, I can recommend this game to anyone who enjoys skill or puzzle games to some degree. What's more, I'd like to positively highlight that Deleveled can be played with just one stick — so accessibility is high.

Despite these supposedly numerous negative aspects, the game has a pull that I could only escape from once I’d played through it. If you’re looking for a simple, short game to switch off with, this is the one for you. However, if you’re expecting a complex role-playing game, you’d be better off with the big RPGs. As is so often the case, it depends on your personal situation; for me, the timing was spot on during the stressful period of the COVID-19 pandemic, and I’d devour a potential third instalment just as eagerly as I did the two predecessors.

All in all, Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon: Every Buddy! is a nice dungeon game. Anyone who gets into the story and doesn’t expect the same depth as in other *Final Fantasy* titles will certainly enjoy a few entertaining hours in this setting. Personally, I would have liked to see better-looking textures, more varied dungeon designs and German subtitles in this remaster.

It’s hard to recommend this game even to Commander Keen fans, as Keen Dreams is quite different from other Keen games anyway and is relatively unknown. Perhaps it’s worth a go for those who really miss the series and have too much money to spare, as you don’t get much in the way of gaming fun for the price. But what about those who’ve never had any experience with Commander Keen? You won’t be missing out on all that much if you give this game a miss, though at least the Definitive Edition offers some advantages over the standard version.

Ring Fit Adventure is a great supplement to exercise. In my case, that's jogging, which I can now complement wonderfully with exercises for my legs, abdominal muscles, and arms. I never would have tried that without the game. In the long run, however, the game will be reduced to exactly that for me: a supplement. It simply can't replace actual exercise in the long term. Those who otherwise don't move at all and don't want to leave their own four walls will find a very good workout here—one that really makes you sweat.

Battletoads is probably the best Rare game in more than ten years, and Dlala Studios has done a very good job together with Rare at reviving the Battletoads. Anyone who can appreciate arcade games and especially brawlers should take a look at the game.

As a long-time Dragon Ball fan, it grabbed me immediately on nostalgia and kept me engaged through the many side quests and the colorful, abundantly filled world. The developers even included obscure references, sometimes mentioned only once in an interview with creator Akira Toriyama. So much attention to detail comes from nowhere and shows that Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is not just a license exploitation, but made by fans for fans.

CrossCode features charming graphics, a brilliant soundtrack with catchy tunes, intuitive controls, fantastic dungeons and witty humour, and has brilliantly brought a classic genre into the modern age. I can recommend CrossCode to anyone who has ever enjoyed games like this, whether in the past or now – you won’t be disappointed.
