Gaming-Village's Reviews
Whoever is interested in the game should be able to endure due to the high difficulty level or have no problem grinding sometimes. In some respects it is unfortunately a step back compared to the predecessors, but the exciting tactical combat system makes the game worthwhile nevertheless. A few minor improvements such as a map in the dungeons and an easier difficulty level would make Bravely Default 2 significantly better.

Principally, A Monster's Expedition is a very cleverly designed game which extracts an immense amount from its basic mechanic. Furthermore, for persons seeking a head-heavy challenge, some island puzzles are a true feast. The atmosphere, whether through humorous comments on humanity or meditative music, is also very pleasant and calm. Unfortunately, the game's pacing does not work. The museum is at home on too many islands, and soon a repetition of the always identical gameplay loop sets in. Since from this phase on the main path of the game the difficulty stagnates and the puzzle design offers no great variety, much idle time and monotony are the result.

Nevertheless, in my view, gameplay and narrative here only partially harmonize with each other. There are some nice ideas in the game design, but these are hardly expanded upon within the short playtime.

Balan Wonderworld is primarily an interesting choice as a creative curiosity for genre fans, but unfortunately fails to package the many good ideas it contains into a polished whole, leaving players less inclined towards the genre out of luck.

The underlying role-playing game is very well thought out, but shoots itself in the foot through randomness. The development team captured the spirit of football well, but in doing so created a sluggish and repetitive gameplay loop. And the customization options are plentiful, but unfortunately my PlayStation Vita doesn't seem to be a fan of virtual sports and accordingly likes to buckle under the pressure.

Chicory: A Colourful Tale isn’t equally suited to every type of player. Whether it’s the story or the childlike design of the world, the lack of challenge or minor flaws in the controls and gameplay, each of us would probably find one or two flaws in the game. Yet Chicory is much more than the sum of its parts. Instead, the different layers interlock and interact in such a way that the work as a whole forms a distinctive and unique puzzle. It is this quality that makes Chicory: A Colourful Tale stand out from the crowd within the medium of video games.

Overall, I felt well entertained by Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights. The graphic style is pleasant to look at, although there are occasional minor stuttering on the Nintendo Switch. I had no problems with combat or movement because of this.

Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny has something to offer for different player types. Those who mainly want to advance the story can do so without being intimidated by the multitude of features. Anyone seeking more challenge can carefully increase enemy strength via the Cheat Shop. And those who wish to thoroughly train and optimize their team will find ample opportunities—and tougher opponents—especially after completing the story.

Overall, Astro's Playroom is a rather short but consistently entertaining platformer with creative level design, many fun gimmicks with the DualSense controller, and a sympathetic presentation. In my opinion, Sony could have placed the game on the shelves as a budget title without any changes and still created a must-buy for the console launch.

Edge of Eternity unmistakably bears the hallmark of its indie origins. It's definitely not as polished as a AAA title. However, one can sense the developers' love for detail and for the genre all the more strongly.

Overall, Final Fantasy VII is a solid RPG that, however, represents a noticeable step backward in gameplay, while its presentation—though technically progressive—doesn't particularly benefit the actual player experience.

With its life simulation game *Cozy Grove*, developer Spry Fox has created a little oasis of relaxation, designed to let players explore the stories of ghost bears over a period of several months, investing just half an hour a day.

Until then, however, racing through the various areas and stumbling upon snippets of lore is usually great fun. What’s more, the many different animations and brief comments on the lore you find really bring the player character to life.

This certainly made the experience more enjoyable, but I never fully warmed up to how heavily I had to rely on target tracking against moving enemies, especially since many opponents simply seemed far more maneuverable than my own aircraft. The story mode is also not particularly long. After finishing the game, the total recorded flight time was around nine hours, although that figure also included an abandoned run on Normal difficulty as well as a few free missions.

For fans of Crypt of the Necrodancer, I can highly recommend Cadence of Hyrule. It might be a bit easier, but the music and rhythm-based combat are as good as ever. If you’re a fan of 2D Zelda and are open to giving it a go, feel free to pick it up or try the demo first. However, you shouldn’t expect a classic Zelda experience, even if the overworld map feels a bit like one. The dungeons in particular – with the exception of the IQ Temple – differ quite significantly from the norm.

Those who remember Flashback from years ago might consider picking it up during a sale. Apart from the very convenient rewind function, the game remains faithful to the original. The controls were likely not particularly good even back then.

I doubt I’d enjoy Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled any more if I knew the characters better.

Even though I had to hold back with the alchemy system to avoid being significantly too strong, and the story isn't truly gripping, I liked the game overall. Through the possible chaining of various attacks and the block function, the combat system feels more active than in the predecessor [...]

Brigandine certainly has flaws - whether it's the Japanese voice acting or the rather boring story and presentation thereof. The gameplay itself carries the game through the complete playtime; I had to think a lot, strategize a lot, but was accompanied by beautiful music pieces along the way.

Drawn to Life: Two Realms may not be the hoped-for sequel. I didn't expect one at all and was surprised by the shifted focus toward a strong puzzle-oriented design
