PowerWash Simulator 2 is a more-of-the-same fun title that doesn’t really do much if you are a returning player expecting more from a sequel. It is still a perfect choice for new players who haven’t experienced the first title or those who are simply here looking for more virtual labor to wash away all their woes.
Forestrike is the latest addition to Devolver Digital’s impressive catalog in 2025. Its creative twist on the Roguelite genre makes it stand out from other games. It’s a game where you have control over everything, and luck doesn’t come into play. It’s a game where you have to use your brain before your brawn, with a splendid cast of characters. While it has some issues, they pale in comparison to the amazing blueprint that is Forestrike.
Digimon Story Time Stranger is a must-play title for all ‘90s kids who were once fascinated by the Digidestined children’s adventures, longtime fans of the Digimon franchise, and monster-catching genre fans for its well-knit story and endearing cast of characters. With a complex gameplay system that encourages limitless freedom to design your team and battles as you like, it also gives JRPG enthusiasts a reason to experience Bandai Namco’s most recent entry in the series, which raises the bar a bit too high for what comes next.
Ghost of Yōtei delivers a powerful revenge tale that is well executed with standout combat and a unique approach to player interaction that feels fresh and a welcome change in open-world game design. It’s comfortable in following suit to its samurai film inspirations and proven gameplay formula. It’s a solid open-world title that fills the revenge fantasy that is content with sharpened refinement rather than revolution.
Silent Hill f isn’t the most terrifying or iconic entry in the series, but it’s one of the most introspective. Its story, atmosphere, and character-driven design make it a fascinating study in psychological horror, just one that’s occasionally weighed down by pacing issues toward the end and some technical difficulties here and there.
Hell Is Us is a bold, ambitious title that succeeds in many of its visions. Great world-building, player exploration and complex puzzle-solving. Conventional, limited combat does detract from its loftier ideas, but Hell Is Us is so full of ambition that it’s a must-play for any gamer tired of traditional video game tropes.
Battlefield 6 is undeniable proof that the franchise is back and arguably in the best state it’s been. Despite an underbaked campaign, Battlefield 6’s multiplayer delivers fantastic visuals, immersive audio design and robust destruction that offer a thrill no matter your role in the battlefield.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is a worthy competitor to the Mario Kart throne. Offering a seamless CrossWorlds mechanic that showcases its audio and visual prowess with responsive, satisfying racing. While sticking largely to genre conventions, Sonic and the team have nailed the core racing fundamentals.
Borderlands 4 is a looter-shooter worthy of your time if you are a long-time fan who is in for the gunplay and varied build crafting fantasies. However, for Destiny leavers like me and others who crave good storytelling and enticing lore, it might come as a big disappointment.
Hollow Knight: Silksong feels like a masterfully baked cake — crafted with time, love, and the finest ingredients — only for someone to deliberately dump salt and pickles on top, ruining it in the process. Beneath this mess lies the heart of a truly compelling game, but you’ll have to scrape away the flaws to taste it.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is one of the best stealth action games ever. It’s a stark reminder of how good it was in the recent past and how good it still can be for the future of the genre if not the franchise. But there’s a missed opportunity of expanding the lore with the power of this generation’s consoles and a lack of major content for returning players that would elevate and provide new experiences for fans of the series.
Cronos: The New Dawn is a survival horror worthy of your time if you are a fan of the genre. It also manages to offer an exceptional experience for newcomers and horror non-fans with its intriguing story, dreadfully gorgeous world design and haunting environmental sounds.
Lost Soul Aside has flashes of spectacle and ambition but fails to deliver on its inspirations. It borrows style without soul, offering only momentary highs in a sea of monotony. Fans of the genre will quickly notice its lack of substance, and newcomers may enjoy it briefly before realizing far better alternatives exist.
Bendy: Lone Wolf doesn’t offer enough to stand out in the 2025 horror scene. In fact, it feels outdated compared to some PS1 games. New horror games should push the genre forward and innovate on what has come before, not take us backwards. This game has all the ingredients needed to be great: a unique art style, an intriguing world and skilled developers with the vision to create something special. However, as it stands now, it’s just a new addition to the Bendy IP, albeit a newfangled one.
Echoes of the End is a good choice if you are a fan of God of War (2018) and the Tomb Raider series. It may secure a future spot for itself among fan-favorites, only if it manages to fix the roughness around its combat edges and build upon its already intriguing fantastical world.
Mafia: The Old Country has a fantastic story filled with a great cast of characters set in a authentic Sicilian setting. Hangar 13 adds new gameplay elements but these are outweighed by dated and repetitive gameplay design and an underused world begging to be explored. But despite these flaws, I couldn’t put this game down – which is proof of just how gripping this cinematic story is.
The Chinese souls-like Wuchang: Fallen Feathers delivers fast and fluid combat as well as a deep customization system. Its inventive mechanics and boss variety shine, but the game stumbles in narrative, exploration, and polish. It’s promising entry in the Souls-like genre, but not what I would put on the top of anyone’s priority list at the moment.
Ready or Not is a thrilling tactical first-person shooter that offers tense situations backed with genre-defining audio design. The single-player campaign is clunky and leaves a lot to be desired, but when you round up a squad of friends, Ready or Not becomes one of the best multiplayer shooters around.
Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is definitely a great choice if you are a fan of anime arena fighters. It comes with fun new additions to a solid title, even when it doesn’t necessarily reinvent the wheel.
The Edge of Fate delivers an interesting new approach in many aspects, but only for either new players or extremely hardcore fans that don’t mind the tedious farming. However, with the endless, unrewarding grind and poorly designed destination, I couldn’t help but feel disappointed as a ten-year Destiny veteran.
