Lydia is an important game, not just because it broaches an important subject matter, but for how it uses its art direction, music, and storytelling to highlight the issues it's bringing to our attention.
A delightful 2D character action game, with fluid combat that feels incredible. There are a ton of ideas packed into Super Crush KO's short runtime, and plenty of goals to chase after the credits.
Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore is a fantastic JRPG that could have been better technically and when it comes to localisation.
The Atelier Dusk Trilogy Deluxe Pack brings three excellent Atelier games to modern systems with most of the previous DLC and while these are great entry points to the series, the ports could have been better.
Mandate of Heaven brings some new ideas and challenges to the Three Kingdoms table. In doing so, the power struggles of Ancient China have never felt more real.
Star Wars Battlefront II: Celebration Edition is a wonderful collection of game modes, maps, and content, providing one of the best Star Wars experiences available.
A poor offering from Red Dev leaves us with a game almost impossible to recommend
Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition on Nintendo Switch suffers too many technical hiccups to be worth getting in its current state despite being chock full of loads of content.
The Iceborne expansion has finally come to Monster Hunter World for PC gamers, bringing a huge roster of new beasties to best and a ton of quality of life improvements. Was it worth the wait? You bet your bottom zenny it was.
Tomb Kings is a solid first DLC offering, though it's a little short. If the devs are going to continue producing expansions of this quality, though, I'm in.
It’s still compelling and you’ll want to train every day, but perhaps it’s not quite as essential as it once was when we played it on the DS-family of handhelds. Just don’t take that brain age too seriously
Riverbond is just a very fun time, perfect for youngsters but oddly therapeutic for all of us grumpy old adults.
Star Ocean: First Departure R on Nintendo Switch is a fine way to experience the origins of the Star Ocean franchise but a pretty barebones remaster.
The combat could be more exciting and its over-reliance on walking and talking can be a bit tiring, but Paranoia: Happiness is Mandatory remains a challenging and rewarding experience nonetheless.
Everreach has potential, but it's not there yet. Hopefully, Elder Games will continue to support it post-launch.
An incredibly relaxing experience, with a great story to tell. Exploring the breathtaking environments as adorable animals is consistantly satisfying. The voice acting does detract from some moments, but Lost Ember's charm and beauty is undeniable
For fans of Assassin's Creed who only own a Switch now or who simply want a reason to play these games again, this is a lot of game to sail through. And for anyone who never experienced Black Flag, or indeed the series as a whole, this is a great entry point.
Shovel Knight: Showdown is a good idea that fans will enjoy in brief bursts. But the restrictive movement options prevent it from becoming a great example of the genre.
Shovel Knight: King of Cards is a glorious, flowing, challenging addition to the series. There's more to do, and more to love - and love it you will.
