X Rebirth is a broken game right now. The UI is clunky, flying feels awkward at best, and you're often left to figure out how to play without any real sort of guidance. This could end up being a fine game once modders are able to essentially remake it, but there's no real reason to pick it up at the current moment.

With Mario and Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games, Nintendo had a great opportunity to produce something fantastic. However, the video game giant failed to take advantage of its source material, resulting in a mediocre and somewhat uninspired final product. There's a bit of fun to be had here, but it won't last for long.

Although it's arguably the definitive version of the game, the next-generation iteration of Skylanders: Swap Force is nearly identical to its console-based predecessors. Those who enjoy family friendly action-platformers, and have been waiting for this release, will surely find a lot to enjoy. However, there's no reason to upgrade if you've already purchased and played through the title on another device.

NBA Live 14 muscles its way to the top of the list as the worst next-gen launch title. The competition has nothing on its significantly subpar visuals, paltry commentary and incredibly stiff gameplay.

Need for Speed: Rivals will wow you initially, but there are too many missteps for it to keep you engaged for a sizeable length of time. The nonsensical story, surprising lack of features and an online component that may as well not be there overshadow the fantastic driving mechanics and lead to a rather monotonous game.

Killer Instinct has the potential to be a top fighting game, but a lack of features and variety of characters hold it back from being something outstanding. Still, with the base game being free, there's no excuse for anyone not to at least try it out.

Forza Motorsport 5 is a lifelike racing simulation experience which will appeal to those who love cars and fantasize about owning the most expensive rides out there. However, despite its removal of A.I. racers in favour of players' analyzed ghosts, the game is still quite sterile, which is something that may bother newcomers.

By no means is LocoCycle a great game. Hell, I don't even know if I can call it a good game. But if I told you that I didn't have fun while playing it, well, I'd be lying.

There's no denying that it looks absolutely stunning, but sometimes a pretty face isn't everything and due to some extremely bland combat, Ryse: Son of Rome fails to be the killer app that many had hoped it would be. Still, for a launch title, you could do worse.

Unsurprisingly, Super Mario 3D World is yet another fantastic platformer starring Nintendo's iconic, red-clad plumber. Although it doesn't necessarily reinvent its genre, the must-play game does a great job of improving upon the elements that made its predecessors classics. Don't miss out on it!

However, by resting on its laurels, the European developer has once again failed to deliver greatness, opting to release a tried but true experience instead of anything revolutionary.
