6 / 10.0 - No Man's Sky
Aug 20, 2016

For all its color and all its life, No Man’s Sky is still little more than dead space.

If you're a fan of the first game, I certainly recommend this one as well. But in a competitive season, it's hard to see Mankind Divided being as impactful or memorable as Deus Ex's reassurance five years ago.

7.8 / 10.0 - Madden NFL 17
Aug 17, 2016

Madden 17 scores in many ways, and there’s more to like than there is to hate, but we can’t ignore the flags on the field. Gameplay, presentation and customization have taken strides, but there’s still work to do.

There’s plenty of mystery and betrayal and a good, fun, and fairly brisk story that will leave you wanting more—even if the end isn’t really a massive cliff-hanger or anything (like some Telltale episodes are.)

So as a companion game to the mainline Gundam Extreme Versus series and as a game you can dip in and out of on the move, Force is great. However, as a standalone game it may leave many confused as to why certain mechanics play out the way they do.

5 / 10.0 - Mighty No. 9
Jul 19, 2016

Mighty No. 9 then is definitely a missed opportunity, not only in terms of crowdfunded gaming but also as a homage to what made the Mega Man games so great in the first place.

6.3 / 10.0 - Dangerous Golf
Jul 13, 2016

It feels a little shallow for a console release. Three Fields Entertainment has excellent potential as a development studio, but I didn’t find DG addictive

Overall, 4.1 is a raucous and fun shooter with a different as well as more open ended approach compared to the more scripted movie wannabe type games out there.

9 / 10.0 - INSIDE
Jul 7, 2016

Inside is an incredible game, a compelling artistic achievement that deserves your time no matter what genre of game you normally prefer.

If you're looking for a game to take the place of titles like London 2012 or Beijing 2008, then bypass this one. However, if you're after a game that can offer a few hours of fun for your family a week this summer, this is a must-have. There's not a lot of replay value, but if you have the proper expectations, it's hard to be disappointed with MASAR 2016.

5.5 / 10.0 - MXGP2

In totality, this game feels like a shell that has a decent foundation with its gameplay. Unfortunately, it lacks variety, flair and depth.

10 / 10.0 - Overwatch
May 25, 2016

It has been a very long time since I've felt this much passion for a game. Overwatch is a perfect storm. It's a new IP, looks gorgeous, plays phenomenally and singlehandedly rekindled my desire to play a genre of game I thought I'd left behind at this point.

Overall, this is a great platformer done better than most of the competition out there. If you have a 3DS then this is a necessary purchase, as it needs to be part of your gaming library.

In short, it's an Uncharted game, and once again, that can speak for itself.

8 / 10.0 - Chronos (VR)
May 3, 2016

Suffice to say, I was utterly absorbed by this game. I didn’t even think I’d like it at first, but now it’s easily one of my very favorite Oculus Rift titles, and one of the best games I’ve played all year.

9 / 10.0 - The Climb (VR)

With The Climb, Crytek has taken a throwaway traversal mechanic from games like Uncharted and masterfully turned that into its own compelling and complete experience.

10 / 10.0 - Dark Souls III
Apr 11, 2016

Dark Souls III does everything really, really well. It is the best looking Souls game hands-down. It's built with care and attention to detail, and all its systems work flawlessly.

R.B.I. 16 isn’t the baseball game XB1 owners have been yearning for since launch. It’s also not any competition for MLB The Show 16. Then again, it doesn’t set out to be either of those things. The aim was to create a baseball game that had a pick-up-and-play quality with a splash of real-life MLB style. While it accomplishes those goals in some areas, the game just isn’t all that fun to play—at least not as a console title.

While CPL16 does some things right, there’s just not enough here to satisfy any sports gamer who isn’t simply thirsty for a lacrosse game. Because of the solid gameplay, the foundation has been established for a complete product in the future. Unfortunately, we just aren’t there yet.

8 / 10.0 - Quantum Break
Apr 5, 2016

This is a genuinely new experience, and I'm beyond glad that Remedy took this bizarre risk and made it. This is a game that feels special, new, and worth trying. I doubted this thing, I really did. But damn if it didn't get me in the end.
