Minds Beneath Us requires your attention and patience to really land itself, but if it holds your investment, you may find yourself on the same emotional rollercoaster as I. It's hard to look past its incredibly slow pacing, but its strong character writing, animation and music at least keep it enjoyable during its downtime.
A thoughtful Indie puzzler that's worth lurking in the shadows for.
Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is an extraordinary game with a distinctive style that is exciting to play. The strategic values and constant fluctuations in the gameplay is creative and appealing. The mechanics aren't anything especially new, but the way the game develops its pieces enhances the overall design and quaintly makes the game its own beast. The game undoubtedly stands out with its loud and compelling graphical style as well as having a superb soundtrack. Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is an innovative adventure that is a precipice of design in the gaming space of today. Snuff out the blight and bring peace in this steep climb to victory!
Cyber Citizen Shockman Zero is a bright and breezy 2D beat 'em up that sees the side-scrolling series go out with a bang.
A fantastic modern port of a criminally overlooked classic.
The Star Named EOS is a magnificent game with great environmental storytelling and smart puzzles. The challenge is appropriate and feels rewarding once you finally realize how everything falls into place. Taking pictures with the camera is not only naturally involving, but is an elegant way to recite this story. The game looks fantastic graphically and the audio makes you feel right at home. You won't regret accompanying Dei on this astronomical voyage through the lens of his camera.
An exploration of the immigrant experience straight from the horse's mouth, Venba tackles a Tamil family's struggles of a loving and living in a strange land, and the turbulence that follows, with a heartwrenching flair.
A shockingly great college football a decade in the making, College Football 25 is arguably the best modern console sport title to date.
The Operator is a fun sci-fi mystery for those short on time, or those daunted by the prospect of spending too long working at a fictional computer desk, let alone your actual one. I felt a little underwhelmed by the underuse of most analytical tools and its unclear ending, but I will always prefer a game that leaves me wanting more over one I just can't wait to be over and done with.
Angry Foot is the most fun game you can play this year. It is fast, funny, punishing, and rewarding all at the same time. It has a great level design, with simple mechanics and a high value of repeatability. There are a few minor technical issues, but it shouldn't stop you from playing this gem of an action game.
Exo One is a very original game on the PlayStation 5 and if you like games such as Marble Madness and Monkey Ball, then this title will be right up your alley. Just be warned that it may take some people time to master the mechanics behind the game but once you do (and if you do), you're literally flying through it.
Yum Yum Cookstar, though made from the remains of a Cooking Mama game, does its job as a low-price cooking game well enough, for better and worse.
The Talos Principle 2 Road to Elysium DLC Review (PS5) is an immersive, Mind Bending, Gorgeous Philosophical Puzzler!
If you loved the original, Windstorm Start of a Great Friendship Remastered almost feels like a different game and best of all its an affordably priced title. In the end, it is tailored at the younger gamer who loves horse riding of the Windstorm franchise that has been nicely recreated on the XSX.
Luigi's Mansion 2 HD is a great rerelease of the 3DS classic and is able to make it even better through its graphical and gameplay renovations. It's nice to see something like this surface to a new audience and gain the love and appreciation that it may have not deserved with its earlier release. Although the game feels a bit more consumable in bite sized chomps, the enjoyment of apprehending these phantoms in bemusing ways is unique and incomparable to anything else. The structure may be restrictive and some quality of life features are sadly unaccounted for, but Luigi's Mansion 2 HD is far from a soul-sucking adventure and delivers by being a pleasure to play.
A must-play DLC expansion with an impressively hand-crafted new region filled with fun new quests, characters, and lore.
If your kids loved the previous game, My Little Pony: A Zephyr Heights Mystery is an updated and dare I say more enjoyable version that will allow children to become fully immersed in this enjoyable game from start to finish. Controls are well mapped and for the most part, the gaming mechanics are sturdy and require limited parental input. It's a kid game made with respect for the characters and the younger gamer.
On the surface, F1 24 doesn't seem to be all that different from last year's game.
If you can work around the resource supply issue… this is indeed a nice chill little game. It's not overly deep or taxing… but it's kind of nice watching your little town grow into a thriving city and the little fairy tale elements here or there just add another bit of charm to it all. It's not terribly expensive but it's not a huge game either so it's about the right point (but if you're not sure, just wait for a sale). Certainly worth a look if you want a city builder that's a bit less stressful and has some mild fantasy elements.
For the most part, Crown Wars: The Black Knight is a disappointing addition for a genre crying out for quality entries.
