Blasphemous on the Nintendo Switch stands out right away with its fantastic pixel art depicting a desolate and inhospitable scenario. But there's a lot more to Blasphemous than its marvelous visual environment, the game has an amazing combat mechanic and its Metroidvania design coupled with platforms provides a world that is well worthy to explore, even after the game's main quest is completed.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons marks the return of the much appreciated series to a Nintendo home console and this new episode is an achievement in every way. With its familiar formula but adding some new mechanics, New Horizons features a fantastic sense of progression, a lot of generosity in its rewards and puts the player in a wonderful environment, all these being major pillars of creating a marvelous experience where we most expect it.

What the Golf? could be a misleading title...or maybe not - it does not suggest a serious golf simulation after all. This hilarious and creative game takes an entirely different approach to the sport of golf, to the point of throwing away nearly everything about the sport and turning it into an addictive game that is simple and can also get absolutely infernal at times. A game that deserves an enthusiastic welcoming to the Nintendo Switch catalogue.

Grim Fandango Remastered is a marvelous throwback to the original classic, now improved with visual and sound upgrades, as well as with a series of extra options that smooth its arrival in the current generation. While this is not a remake of the original, it won't be difficult for more recent players to see why this is such a cherished name in the world of gaming, thanks to its delightful mix of noir comedy, grim elements and addictive plot.

Futuridium EP Deluxe is a fun, slick and addictive score-attack shooter that shows excellent production values and is simple enough to get the players' attention immediately. While the difficulty curve can get too steep by the end of the game and sometimes, the depth perception would need slight adjustments, this is a game that is recommended to all those who enjoy fast-paced, fun experiences and who derive a huge sense of satisfaction from improving their high scores.

Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty is a competent port of a fun, creative and original game which despite its almost 20 years of age, still holds on today. Valiant Hearts: The Great War brings an involving and touching experience about World War One to the Nintendo Switch under the guise of a point and click game with puzzles to solve. The LEGO series sticks to its formula of accessible puzzles, gags and simple gameplay mechanics. While this coherence is overall positive, it's not improving where it should. Nonetheless, the overwhelming presence of the Marvel universe and the amount of unlockable content are well enough for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes to please the fans of both the comic and the game series alike.

The Assassin's Creed series is teetering on the brink of saturation. Credit to Black Flag for escaping that fate thanks to its interesting and innovative mechanics.
