Daemon X Machina does very well when it comes to action, while also delivering a strong customization and strategic experience when it comes to planning the next battle and managing resources. The game's plot could certainly have fared better but the overall gaming experience of Daemon X Machina will leave fans of action games overwhelmingly satisfied, especially those who enjoy a good amount of planning and customization.

7 / 10 - Forager
Sep 6, 2019

Forager is a fun 2D open-world simulation game that puts the player on an expansionist endeavour from a small patch of land to an empire...and it does a good job at that. Forager gives a very good feeling of growth and progression to the player while it keeps its mechanics and learning process quick and simple. Pity the game seems to lose some of its performance capacity as the player's empire expands.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a Metroidvania title that features many of the ideas that could make one of the finest games in this genre, with its challenging structure and gameplay mechanics. Where Ritual of the Night falls short is mostly on its technical performance, with long loading times, inconsistencies and formatting problems and some incomprehensible framerate drops. This game might be a fan service effort but it still needs to have its flaws addressed.

Graveyard Keeper is a cemetery management simulation game and naturally, this is enough for it to stand out on its own. Adding to that a very interesting visual environment and a complex gameplay and a segment of the market will find reasons to be happy about. Those who are not fans of management simulations, as well as those looking for simpler experiences, won't appreciate it in the same way, as Graveyard Keeper can get too cumbersome, long and repetitive and could improve some aspects about its controls.

Its emotional experience is worthy of praise, as it is its heavy, gritty environment. The plot is rather short-lived, which makes the journey less involving than it could be, but overall the experience of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is worth exploring by all those who are interested in a more emotional component of gaming.

Cadence of Hyrule – Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring The Legend of Zelda is a long title for a game that does something remarkable: to merge the Zelda world with the gameplay of Crypt of the NecroDancer and the result is nothing short of marvelous. The gameplay mechanics and concept work so well that anyone will get into the Hyrule-based game quickly and find themselves investing their strategic thinking into this challenging but lovely work.

6 / 10 - Beat Cop
Jun 11, 2019

Beat Cop delivers the experience of a 1980s-style police action movie, with heavy doses of irony and unreal comedy added on top of it. The result is a game that is fun and a marvel to look at, even if some of its elements can get confusing and repetitive at times.

GIGA WRECKER Alt. is a fun and enjoyable metroidvania type of game that features a good amount of action, exploration and platforming, as well as decent level of puzzle challenges. It doesn't go all the way to become an instant classic and it's difficult for the game to rise above its peers but it does a competent job at providing a good experience.

My Time at Portia is a simulation game that shows a commendable level of ambition and an immense world to explore and develop, with plenty of actions to perform all over. It does not fully live up to its potential, though, as it requires some technical optimization in order to fit better with the Nintendo Switch and its long loading times can put a strain on the player's patience.

7 / 10 - Mana Spark
Apr 1, 2019

A game that can be as satisfying as it is difficult, Mana Spark will find a place immediately with enthusiasts of tough, demanding challenges, while finding itself a bit too much for less experienced players, but that should not be an obstacle as this is one fine specimen of an indie game that punches above its weight.

My Memory of Us brings the players into a different experience, with its sombre environments and unusual story-telling. Thanks to its accessible gameplay it never gets too difficult to advance, which might be disappointing for players looking for something more complex but the game's original premise and concept make this a title that stands out amidst other indie games in the Nintendo Switch catalogue.

6 / 10 - Armello
Mar 5, 2019

Armello brings a set of strategy and RPG elements to the Nintendo Switch and while it does not feature a very compelling plot, it offers an interesting mix of gameplay mechanics, along with very attractive views to look at and a good level of challenge. Its tutorials and rules do feel excessive though and its local multiplayer could use some work but overall, Armello is a fun package that can be enjoyed by many players.

New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe is, by itself, quite the appealing edition for players who did not experience the two Wii U games that this title brings together. And it does a very good job at that, thanks to its marvelous work at producing the ultimate version of those games. It's those who have enjoyed those experiences before that will feel most disappointed, however, as this edition does not bring anything truly new or significant for players well accustomed to the originals.

6 / 10 - MagiCat
Jan 3, 2019

A platformer with a good level of challenge an lifespan and a visually attractive environment, MagiCat has plenty of competition and ends up not standing above its peers due to a feeling of repetitiveness and a gameplay that sometimes can feel out of place but the game is competent enough to be appealing to fans of platform games.
