Valkyrie Elysium provided one of the most engaging combat systems this year, with the satisfying combos and amazing boss battles that action RPG fans should never miss, even if its short on the RPG side. The game could have been outstanding if took a bit more time in the oven with a little bit more budget, in the end it's a good game that is worth giving a shot if you are looking for a combat oriented game with no expectations from the story

The Diofield chronicles is a good addition for those who are thirsty for strategy combat, with good upgrading sysetm and part management. But my experience was hindered by the repetitive missions and the story which dragged for longer than needed

NBA 2K23 is the best game in the series when it comes to attention for details, gameplay, presentation and game modes, and it will be admired by any basketball fan. However, microtransactions are still a problem that cannot be ignored.

An entertaining enough game, although the synergy never works and the story loses steam fast. A good first effort, though

Saints Row is a huge disappointment for the fans of action open world games, everything this game has to offer is mediocre at best and didn't bring anything new to the series, if anything it feels like a step back with how unpolished and generic the game is

Soul Hackers 2 is not a bad game at all, but it failed to add anything new to plate when it comes to the genre. The good combat alone was not enough to elevate the game enough to meet the standards Atlus set with Shin Megami V and Persona 5

A triumph in melding style with substance, a blistering experience once you get in the flow, but that requires skill and persistence that might be beyond some players.

A charming and beautiful game, set in a breathtaking world and plays differently owing to its leas character. A serene experience.

Live A Live is worth a try for everyone who owns a Switch and loves RPG games with a multi-role system and contains an innovative and wonderful story with a fun and simple fighting system, but needs to think about every step you take, do not expect it to be a revolutionary game, but it is worth every minute of your time, especially for the scarcity of this

A rich and satisfying journey with some unforgettable characters and moments, only marred by some low budget concessions. A sequel with a much more ambitious scope and slight QoL improvements.

Two charming games set in a dreamlike world. Their brevity isn't a problem in and of itself, but this celebration could've been bolstered by including some of the other games in the series.

A visually pleasing fighter that is competent in every aspect, but other than being based on a popular MMO and some of the minutiae of its system, other fighters have offered a better experience, some of them even from the same developer.

A unique and polished experience, with a gripping story and interesting conundrums. One of the year's hidden gems.

An eclectic selection, even if Alpha 3 Upper is missed, and contains some games that were heretofore exclusive to arcades and/or Japan, presented in a supremely polished fashion. A must have for any fan of Capcom's fighting glory.

A fun and engaging football & brawl mashup that is let down by its anemic content especially in single player.

The games are solid and presented in great quality, that's for sure, but the meager and daresay greedy approach isn't fitting for a 30th anniversary celebration.

A great experience that succeeds in evoking the best aspects of TMNT classic games while throwing in a new idea or two.

A fun romp with high production values and an engaging cast of characters. Light on gameplay or twists but this is a bigger and longer take on the dev's usual formula.

One to get for the characters and story, especially if you can't get enough of the base game.
