Critic Reviews for Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist
A soulful and gorgeous Metroidvania with exquisite hack and slash action.
Ender Magnolia is a solid sophomore effort for this series, and while the exploration is protracted and occasionally confusing, the combat steps up its game in a big way. While not a gigantic leap forward, chalk up another good outing in this hidden gem of a Metroidvania series.
It's up to Lilac the Attuner to save the kingdom from rampaging Homunculi in Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist.
Ender Magnolia is an excellent Metroidvania that exemplifies the best of what the genre has to offer. Its combination of tense combat, interesting worldbuilding, and memorable art style makes for a compelling experience that we'd highly suggest to anybody drawn to games such as Hollow Knight or Blasphemous. It's downbeat, but anyone who isn't yet exhausted by Metroidvanias will find a lot to love here.
Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist is a confident, compelling adventure filled with interesting boss fights, inventive mechanics, lovely visuals and wonderful music.
Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist is a metroidvania that stands out for its unique atmosphere and refined combat system. Despite some navigation issues and the fragility of our protagonist, the game offers a captivating experience that will keep players hooked throughout its duration.

Ender Magnolia follows in the footsteps of Ender Lilies by delivering a longer-than-average metroidvania with a fun combat system and a very pleasing art style, especially when it comes to backgrounds. However, while its story beats are by no means bad, they lack the spark that was present in Ender Lilies.
