Marathon requires a lot of patience and time to begin enjoying, but as the hours pass, it becomes an obsession. Bungie's signature style is present in its gameplay, but also in the construction of its universe and its difficulty. It's unique among extraction shooters, but its high barrier to entry and the constant dedication it demands won't win everyone over.

After two remarkable installments, Nioh 3 represents a significant leap forward for the franchise. While maintaining a foundation familiar to longtime players, the world is now far more ambitious, and the gameplay has evolved remarkably. It's a genuinely powerful entry.

WWE 2K26 has established itself as one of the best recent games in the series, offering enough new features to satisfy fans and a standout Showcase mode, though it doesn't quite reach the legendary status of 2K14. Its wide variety of modes and stipulations makes it a very complete and enjoyable installment. However, the introduction of the Ringside Pass and the prevalence of microtransactions could generate controversy within the community.

Resident Evil Requiem masterfully executes everything that the remakes and recent modern installments of the saga have done well. It puts us in the shoes of the charismatic Leon, revealing previously unseen nuances, and introduces us to Grace, the central figure of the plot and a character with a screen presence that even Leon cannot overshadow. And that's saying something.

A spectacular production, remarkable in every aspect, reminiscent of some great adventures of yesteryear and ideal for any survival horror fan. With Crucible: Theater of Idols, Vermila Studios sets an enviable starting point, only improvable in a few areas.

God of War: Sons of Sparta is decent, entertaining, and enjoyable at times, but we should expect (and demand) much more from this franchise. We're not here for Kratos to star in a passable Metroidvania; we're here for his brutality and quality to shine, to take a step forward in a genre that, unfortunately, has countless other games that are far superior to this one.

Sometimes it's difficult to create something terrifying and disturbing without resorting to cheap jump scares, but when the grotesque and horror merge, works like Reanimal are born. Tarsier Studios' game has surpassed the original Little Nightmares in every way, adding a cooperative mode and refining the level design, sound, and atmosphere that many of the industry's most popular horror titles would envy.

Romeo is a Dead Man is a magnificent action game, a great demonstration of Goichi Suda's authorial talent, and, above all, a necessary reminder that big-budget productions can also be daring. It's a sincere, imaginative, artistic, human, and imperfect game that tries everything in terms of gameplay, narrative, and audiovisuals, achieving a fantastical whole that will ignite passions in fans of interactive media and scare away those who merely see video games as utilitarian, just like truly memorable titles.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is the definitive remake of the franchise. If you thought the previous Kiwami games had already redefined the first two installments with exceptional quality, this remake of the third chapter simply takes it to a whole new level.

Octopath Traveler 0 is a true behemoth of the JRPG genre. It's a video game with addictive gameplay and a party-building system that will have you constantly switching characters, trying new combinations, and searching for the strategy that suits you best. But what's more, the world of Octopath Traveler 0 is gigantic, brimming with content, and best of all: filled with villains you'll love to hate.

Perhaps it couldn't have been any other way: Retro Studios' game opts for a classic design, demonstrating that the franchise isn't one that has to answer to anyone. It's not always necessary to change, and stepping outside your comfort zone can, ironically, mean staying within it. Retro Studios knows exactly what it's doing. I don't think anyone would dare question something so obvious.

Dispatch is one of the games of the year, sorry, there's no discussion here. I can't say more without spoiling, and this is a game where spoilers ruin the experience.

Kirby Air Riders is a surprisingly deep and uniquely structured game, born from the obsessions of Masahiro Sakurai already seen in his previous works. Almost as if it were an auteur game, this new entry in the saga is clear proof of the finesse with which the Japanese creator operates, resulting in a remarkable title that blends the boundaries of several genres at once.

Within the shooter genre, it's an absolute gem and one of the best among extraction shooters. I could easily describe it as the Helldivers 2 of 2025. It's not extremely innovative, but everything it does, it does brilliantly. It can feel a bit slow, especially at first , but it's highly addictive to keep looting, progressing with your character, trying new things, and above all, interacting with other players since its social aspect is amazing.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment delivers what fans have been waiting for - a musou that actually matters to the Zelda timeline. Despite the repetitive secondary missions and occasional performance hiccups, the canon story, polished combat, and massive content make it essential for any Zelda enthusiast. It's not perfect, but it successfully blends frantic action with meaningful lore in a way no previous Warriors game has achieved. If you can tolerate the genre's inherent repetition and play it in spaced sessions, you're in for an epic journey through Hyrule's ancient past. This is the definitive Zelda musou experience.

Tormented Souls II is the sequel the first game deserved. Dual Effect listened to criticism, polished what was lacking, and amplified what worked. The result is a survival horror game that respects the classic 90s style without feeling anachronistic, offers a real challenge without becoming constantly frustrating (well, almost), and looks spectacular on PC.

The restoration work on Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake stands as one of the finest seen in recent years. It serves as a homage to the original games and an enhancement and expansion of their worlds. These classics are deeply nostalgic, very much products of their time, with all the charm—and limitations—that entails.

The Outer Worlds 2 is another proof that raises Obsidian as one of the strongest studios in modern RPGs. Despite carrying over some issues from the past, it’s a more ambitious and fun sequel, filled with compelling characters and a narrative that truly makes you feel part of the conflict in the Arcadia colony.

Ninja Gaiden 4 is a very good entry in the saga. It doesn't invent anything revolutionary, but it improves practically everything the previous entries did well and fixes many of the things they did wrong. The camera works, the combat is fluid and brutal, Yakumo is a competent protagonist who doesn't pale in comparison to Ryu, and the technical aspects are up to par. It has some flaws, of course. The on-rails sections become repetitive, the difficulty can be frustrating instead of challenging at certain moments, and the amount of techniques is overwhelming at first. But these are minor complaints in the overall context.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is not the vampire adventure you were hoping for, but it also isn't the massive disappointment you might have expected given its troubled development process. Even though the game clearly needs more development time, especially since the ending feels particularly rushed, there is some charm to Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. The gameplay can be truly engaging, thanks to the vampiric powers and dynamic traversal... as long as you don't spend too much time in its melee combat.
