Metaphor: ReFantazio draws a lot from what it learned from Persona 5, and that can only be good. It is one more evolution of the JRPG genre both in terms of gameplay and art, a game that once again sets the tone within this style, and as if that were not enough, manages to trap the player and immerse him in its universe with great ease thanks to its excellently well-written characters and a plot that hooks you from minute one.

The little Astro has been accompanying PlayStation for several years, but this game serves to give the Japanese company that saga of platforms for all audiences that is placed at the height of other famous franchises such as Super Mario. A work made that overflows with love from the first minute of play to the last and that keeps you smiling all the time.

The 15-year wait for the saga has been good for this brand new installment, as it has a depth of gameplay worthy of the best RPGs of the moment. Its great customization of each character's play style is very addictive and its artistic style and setting are beautiful, but it is also weighed down by a story with good ideas but improvable execution and an exploration that does not stand out.

As a game in itself, it is a timeless gem that has not aged at all thanks to the freshness provided by the playability of this saga, its originality and its impeccable level design. And as a remaster, although it doesn't look as good as Luigi's Mansion 3, the visual changes and improvements fit it like a glove and doesn't clash at all among the Nintendo Switch game catalog.

Atlus has managed to make a new version that surpasses the original work in everything (again, because they always do this well with their games). Not only with the obvious improvements at a playable and visual level, but because the new content turns Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance into a product that borders on the label of "new game" and not "new version." One of the best JRPGs of the year and, possibly, the best SMT of the series.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is a very good remake on a visual level, although not so much on a gameplay level, as it remains almost intact compared to the GameCube title.

Rise of the Ronin is not a perfect game and has its fair share of flaws, but it still is really impressive. Its landscapes and many scenarios paint the amazing picture of the Edo era in Japan masterfully, and you can add on top of that a gameplay that is incredibly solid mostly thanks to its flawless battle mechanics. Overall, Rise of the Ronin is a game that will satisfy an incredibly wide range of audiences.

It's a very faithful remake in terms of gameplay, with all the good and all the bad that comes with it. But the level design is still excellent, and the new worlds that this version brings are a breath of fresh air that suits it wonderfully. Mario's reduced mobility may shock those who are more accustomed to the plumber's big jumps and pirouettes in games that are purely platformers, but what makes Mario vs. Donkey Kong shine is its puzzles and the ingenuity behind them.

Persona 3 is a masterpiece mainly due to its amazing story. Still, Atlus has managed to improve not only the visual aspect of it, but also every other little thing in order to turn what was once a niche game into a full timeless gem. It basically features the best battle system within the entirety of the Persona series, which is supported as well by a new UI that looks simply stunning. Overall, Persona 3 is a game that will steal the players' hearts both through laughter and tears.

Sticking to what was already done isn't always a bad thing, and Forza Motorsport proves it. Although it does not mark a before and after in the saga, it is still a great driving game that improves enough compared to the previous installment to be superior. An impeccable gameplay that stands out for how accessible it is even for those who do not play with a steering wheel added to the fact that it is possibly the greatest graphic portent of the Xbox catalog make a cocktail that makes this title an essential within its genre.

For any metroidvania lover, this game is a must. It solves the shortcomings of the first delivery and multiplies the virtues of it. It practically does not fail in anything and hits in everything, being a cocktail of addictive gameplay, mysteries, discovery, exploration and high but compensated difficulty that has nothing to envy to several of the considered best metroidvania of all time.

F1 23 is one of those games that manage to make you love even more a genre that you already liked a lot, or that you even did not like. Few titles can boast of it, and that shows that this work is a real game within the genre of driving and simulation.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is the example of how a game must surpass in all aspects the previous one: a much more intense and powerful plot, even more lively characters and a gameplay not only polished, but perfected and evolved. This is already an IP that aims to have a very good future.

Shredders is a game with very good intentions, it aims to be a love letter to a sport like snowboarding, but it does not get to excite. And it is not because of its lack of shortcomings, but rather because of a lack of virtues. It becomes a fun game, but it's also very flat and monotonous. Unfortunately, it does not shine with its own light within the genre.

Gran Turismo 7 is the pinnacle of simulators, and no longer just driving. In addition, the game goes a step further and borders on eroticism in the motor world: observing the cars, taking pictures of them and seeing relaxing cinematics of these driving is not only part of Gran Turismo 7, but is one of its fundamental pillars. In short, the game is a perfect cocktail of elegance and competition.

House of Ashes is not for everyone, but it is still recommended as a purely narrative experience. It has some shortcomings but also has the ability to hook you to the story from the first moment. Logically, the gameplay is practically nil and, in the end, it is a movie made video game. But a very entertaining film.

Returnal was not one of the most anticipated games by PS5 users, and it is because of this that it is a big surprise. Housemarque has carried out its most ambitious project and, although it has slight shortcomings, it is one of the games that until now best takes advantage of the features of dualSense, PS5 and that is a great must for any player fan of shooters or roguelikes.

Control Ultimate Edition in new generation is almost another game: being able to play 1440p and 60fps in a game that is technically a blast is a real marvel. Added to this is how you take advantage of DualSense features, new console SSDs, and more PS5 features, making immersion brutal. Of course, we must not forget the excellent gameplay and background that already had Base Control, even if it had its obvious shortcomings.

Pumpkin Jack is a game that surprises, especially because watching its trailers appears to be something it is not. Actually, it is much more than that, with great characters, a story that is not deep but is very fun and with an excellent script, a combat system that, within its simplicity, is very attractive and a magnificent setting. All coupled with a spectacular level design and a fantastic soundtrack. One of the few drawbacks that can be put is that it is a little short.
