Overall, PGA2K21 is a great game to pass the time with but not without its issues. I recommend playing through this if you are a true golf fan. But for fans of the previous series such as the EA golf games (Tiger woods, Rory Mcllroy) I'd probably stay away as this is such a far cry from the games you remember. However, if you can manage to get past the controls you can have a decent time. Even with some of the issue that regarding controls this game still with provide hours and hours of content that will keep you replaying key moments through the various modes. So, as it stands PGA2K21 is just par for the course no more no less.
Windbound is a decently fun game. Through the story didn't pull me in, the visuals and upgrading the ship were what kept me wanting to play more. If you're a fan of Windwaker, Windbound may not satisfy your craving with the survival pieces added in. But if you're looking for a different survival game, or if the premise of Windbound sounds like it will float your boat? Grab it!
Scourge Bringer went from a very promising, albeit frustrating experience I dropped after an hour to a game I want to keep coming back to. A true testament to holding judgment on a game before it it's finished. It also illustrates my biggest pet peeve with early access: it can paint a really bad picture in your mind from its lack of polish or things that eventually would be added or omitted. Luckily the game is fully realized now and if you want a quick and satisfying evolved arcade experience, Scourge Bringer is here to bring the SCOURGE of your boredom.
The Guise is masking it's true potential with a severe lack of polish that ends in unintuitive, frustrating gameplay and a complete lack of immersion. It's a very impressive showing by one person but it just needed more time to be ready.
9 Monkeys of Shaolin is a good throwback to side-scrolling action games of old. There is a lot to like, like the intricate combat system that is very satisfying once you master it. Keep in mind that this is very challenging and you will need some patience to master it. However, it's a good amount of fun and won't take you too much time to beat. If you're looking for a quick action game, give this one a try.
Woodle Tree 2: Deluxe+ is a collection distraction game. If you love to collect things or just need something to pass the time then this is an alright option. However, the lack of satisfying combat and level design made collecting rather dull.
In the end, the MyCareer in NBA 2K21 is a blast to playthrough! Adding an epic story with some amazing actors just sucks you right in. I highly recommend ballers looking to jump straight into My Neighborhood, please take the time to play through it at least once to experience it, you can tell they put some hard work into building it for us. Like an echo from last year, all sports games should strive to be as great as the NBA 2K series MyCareer mode. Give us a story and let us BE the character.
At the end of the fright, Remothered: Broken Porcelain is probably a must-play for fans of Remothered: Tormented Fathers, but newcomers may not want to jump in at this game if you're looking for the full story. If you are though however are looking for a quick thrill and not too worried about some gameplay issues, Remothered: Broken Porcelain could be something to take a stab at.
WWE 2K Battlegrounds is stylish, fast-paced, and fun. However, it's pretty light on roster and options for create-a-wrestler. I wish there were more options to unlock things instead of hiding it all behind a paywall. Despite that, Battlegrounds accomplishes what it intends to do, which is entertain wrestling fans as we wait for the next-gen entry into the WWE 2K series.
Star Renegades Is a refreshing Sci-Fi RPG with a tactical battle system, fun dialogue, and overall modernistic-retro feel. I whole heartily recommend you pick up this game if you are a fan of the genre.
While it has untapped potential and rough spots, Skully offers some good platforming and collecting fun when it hits its highs.
While Witcheye did not blow me away with its simple mechanics or lack of challenge, it was a rather fun distraction between the more complex time sinks in my collection.
In a world where choices affect so many outcomes, Wasteland 3 emphasizes the phrase “choose wisely.” Your outcomes will greatly differ depending on how you complete main and side missions, as well as how you use the many skills and attributes to fill out your ultimate Ranger squad. Wasteland 3 is a remarkable game that gives you tons of meaty content that you can spend hours and hours with.
Panzer Paladin is a true love letter to NES era platformers. Blending the best of megaman and castlevania, more references than you can shake a stick at and all in a lovely chip tuned filled romp that is as fun as it is challenging.
The Academy: The First Riddle is a fun game. Puzzle fans should keep an eye out for it and even hope for a "Second Riddle". If you aren't a puzzle fan, The Academy may not put you under its spell.
Fall Guys is flat out fun. It is a must play with friends and has plenty of room to grow. It's silly and competitive in all the right ways. I'm excited to see it's future.
There is a ton of potential in it's current state, but needs some additional content to really flush out the game. The core gameplay is incredible, but is it enough to keep players coming back? I would love to see a future roadmap for additional content. If players know that more content is coming, then I truly believe Skater XL will live up to the potential and be a standout skating simulator for years to come.
Carrion is a must-play if you are a fan of Metroidvanias or horror games. It has an interesting story and wonderful mechanics that help set it apart from other horror games. It feels good to be the creature and each new ability makes you want to keep exploring and snack on some scientists. More importantly, Carrion is flat out fun. Give it a try today!
Fans of Outward should really enjoy these new additions, as it has something for every player to enjoy, from exploring, to enchanting, to corrupted magic. I did run into some bugs along my journey around The Soroboreans. Some of these actually have gotten fixed with the latest update, so though it adds some great content, you may also run into some technical bugs.
I have been really enjoying Zombie Army 4, and I highly recommend you give it a shot. If you have played any of the previous games, or if you are looking for a short, multiplayer shooter, then you are in for a treat. It is a blast to play with friends, and if you are a fan of zombie games, you owe it to yourself to play it.
