12 / 20 - Kona
Mar 27, 2017

Kona isn't a bad game, it has several qualities like its atmosphere, its narrative and its survival aspect, except for the exhaustion system. But, Paraboles game has too many weaknesses to captivate us, like a slow rhythm seconded by a feeling of filing. You should eventually discover it in a moment of scarcity or to take a break between two AAA games, which might be difficult considering how this first trimester is exceptional.

16 / 20 - Yo-Kai Watch 2
Mar 31, 2017

Yo-kai Watch 2 stays along the line of its predecessor and adds some useful features. Level 5 has been receptive to the players' feedback as the addition of the so-awaited online battles proves it. With a good handling, the game stays accessible to everyone. Just like Pokemon, the franchise is ready to keep the momentum and to offer even more Yo-Kai-friends. However, the several back-and-forth and the feeling of deja-vu for those who played the first game might be a drawback. Nevertheless, whether you are a longtime fan or a newcomer, Yo-Kai Watch 2 stands out as a reference for its genre and promise long hours of fun.

For this first episode of Fated : The Silent Oath, the developers at Frima Studio manage to spark an interest in the player, despite a low duration, leading to a lack of emotions felt. Endowed with pretty environments but animations and lipsynch from another time, this debut mostly makes us travel in VR. With well put mechanics and well brought sequences, Fated : The Silent Oath is an enjoyable experience. Too bad that the too-little taste is getting the upper hand, for now at least.

15 / 20 - StarBlood Arena
Apr 11, 2017

We can conclude that Starblood Arena is colorful action game and is delightfully fun. You ears will enjoy the rock tracks and your eyes the cartoonish explosions. The skimpy level design of the maps provides dynamic combats in which you will almost never have a breathing space. The Gridiron mode, or when Rocket League meets Overwatch, is by far our favorite. It remains to be seen whether it will still be improved, because the game still lacks of another play mode like Gridiron. Still, Starblood Arena is an excellent choice for your PlayStation VR.

With its story and atmosphere Blackwood Crossing gives an original adventure and provide various emotions to the player. Even if it has a few problems such as a few loading times, a slow moving speed, a short game time, PaperSeven's title transports you into the world of Scarlett and when the final screen arrives, you only want to keep on playing. We look forward to play their next game which, hopefully, will correct the few flaws of this first soft.

20 / 20 - Persona 5
Apr 17, 2017

Persona 5 puts the JRPG to its rightful place again. Not only is the game a very great Persona, but a very great game in the genre which it belongs as well. Brilliant in every aspect, the game does not leave the player, and brings him across one surprise after another, both in its scenario and its structure. It joins the list of the excellent games in this first half of the year. With its unforgettable characters, its perfect narrative, its flawless combat system and its very lengthy lifespan, we can say it loud and clear, that game is here to steal our player's hearts for the next few months'!

Creating a remake, what a difficult mission ! On the one hand, you have to keep the core of the game intact, and in the other hand, you have to put it in the modern era. Lizarcube's team did it brilliantly by keeping the strengths of the original game almost in its entirety and by giving it a more pleasant aesthetic. With its old-school gameplay and its beautiful graphics, Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap is a nostalgic journey which could be enjoyed by the older players and the younger ones. At least, if losing and starting over isn't a problem for you.

If you have played many hours of Lego City Undercover on Wii U, it's difficult for us to recommend you this lazy port. It has nothing new to offer but a simple coop mode, a better framerate and a little bit more refined graphics. Our judgement might seems a bit harsh, but it totally changes if you're new to Chase Mccain's adventures. Because except a certain heaviness in the controls and the absence of a true liberty, the search for Rex Fury in the streets of Lego City is a real pleasure, truly funny and refreshing. In short, if this beginning of the year is absolutely amazing in terms of game releases, keeping a place for Lego City Undercover might not be the worst thing you could do.

If you don't own a Switch and you've already done Mario Kart 8 on Wii U, then there's no reason to fall for this iteration that brings too little to the bottom. In all other cases, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the most accomplished experience of the saga, with a gameplay with small onions and a consequent game background.

Puyo Puyo Tertis is a good crossover between two major IPs in puzzle games. Offering the classic of both of them, the game gives the opportunity of a genuine melting between the universes as well. Still, the slight advantage given to the Puyo Puyo combos provides a feeling of inequality between players. However, the provided game modes are fun and addictive. You can expect playing for long hours. Although a bit expensive on Nintendo Switch, the fans of puzzle games will be in heaven. Puyo Puyo Tetris is a must in its genre.

Let's not beat about the bush, What Remains of Edith Finch is a real nugget that manages to break the codes of the genre thanks to its inventive game design. This short, tragic and poignant adventure is sublimated by an ingenious level design, a refined sound and visual universe, and an exquisite narrative.

15 / 20 - Prey
May 12, 2017

Prey could have been more than a good game, but will not exceed this status, to our deep regret. It's the fault of script, narrative and writing problems, the three nemesis of Arkane Studios. We can fortunately rely on an always inspired level design, giving to the player a liberty, and an efficient gameplay. The last part of the game and the end spoil the party too, icing an already very slow rythm. Prey remains a good choice if you're looking for a less boom-boom FPS and if you like the sci-fi atmosphere.

16 / 20 - Farpoint
May 17, 2017

We loved Farpoint since we first played it at the E3 2016. After cleaning this uncharted planet from arachnids for 5 hours, we have never been disappointed. Classical? Yes. No point without Virtual Reality? Definitely. But we are here to judge the final product as it was designed, which means for Virtual Reality. Impulse Gear's small team released a highly immersive action game and a must-play on PlayStation VR. There is still efforts needed on situations and the length of the game to further develop the characters and the story. But for a first try, the basis is really strong. Moreover, you can extend the experience thanks to the cooperative mode, which is a total success despite a limited number of maps. As for the Aim Controller, it will be hard to play without it and we hope others FPS will follow this path. Farpoint, or the new VR reference.

14 / 20 - Portal Knights
May 20, 2017

Portal Knights is a game that will satisfy lovers of the genre, but unfortunately it still remains too classic, despite the story it offers. In addition the sounds' problems that we encountered have spoiled our immersion (the update 1.01, available at the launch, should correct this problem). On the other hand it catches up largely with its ability to play up to 4 players in the same team, and especially with its creative side which is very developed. It will allow you to spend many hours in order to build according to your imagination and your desires.

In line with its predecessor, Operation Babel : New Tokyo Legacy offers a pretty complete RPG with an underlying poorly handled difficulty. The mix of blood, craft and loot are many mechanics that will be off-putting to the less experimented players. Only for players familiar with the genre craving for Dungeon RPGs.

17 / 20 - Endless Space 2
Jun 20, 2017

Amplitude made a great work, Endless Space 2 is a good successor of is big brother and bring a lot of new stuff for the gamers. A game who's easy enough for beginner and really interesting if you dig upon the gameplay, thanks to a nicely done politic system. If the developer can correct some bugs, we can have an epic 4X game for the fans. Anyway we hope the combat system will change to something more visceral on an hypotetic third game.

16 / 20 - Ever Oasis
Jun 22, 2017

Despite a few flaws, Ever Oasis is already a game which has much to offer to the player and has a huge potential. Intelligent and showing some nice gameplay ideas, beautiful and realising an uncommon heat, the mix between oasis management and Action-RPG fits very well. The title really has the possibility to lead way to a hypothetical sequel and becoming a new Nintendo franchise. We only regret that the game comes on a 3DS which is at the end of its lifespan.

If you have spent hours and hours in front of a CRT TV, grumbling, starting over and over one of the levels of the first three Crash Bandicoot to complete it 100%, you can go straight on the N.Sane Trilogy with your eyes closed. And if you've never played a Crash Bandicoot in your entire life, you can go on it too.

13 / 20 - Get Even
Jul 6, 2017

With a minimalist gameplay and offering the worst experience ever seen in a FPS, Get Even nevertheless succeeds in making an impression. With a great atmosphere and a quality soundtrack, the game brings a sweet madness in our sessions. The narration and acting of the main characters fascinate us during this well-designed investigation, even if there are some clich's. With more open areas and a better technique, Get Even could have been one of the unforgettable games of our summer, but instead of that, even if it's not memorable, it will bring you a cheerful experience.

15 / 20 - Master X Master
Jul 19, 2017

Master X Master isn't really a traditional MOBA, it is even better than that. The title is a "hybrid" between different kinds of games. Master X Master offers an intuitive gameplay, a great number of playable characters, and a content that doesn't have to be ashamed regarding the competition. Visually good, MxM has everything to make its place and give a little wind of freshness to the genre.
