Door Kickers: Action Squad is a moody sidescroll action game that can develop its full potential, especially in cooperative mode. Due to the short and crisp levels, the game builds on the classic "still a quick round" game principle, which fully works. There is also a certain tactical depth for two, because you have to plan your approach a bit because of the different character types, because headless action is usually punished with sudden screen death. If you only play alone, you will have to grind a little more at the beginning, but the game is also a lot of fun here, although a short tutorial might have been desirable to get you started. So if you like to play games with your buddy, you should definitely take a closer look at Door Kickers: Action Squad.

Luigi's Mansion 3 is another Nintendo game that brings an incredible amount of charm and ideas with it, which lets the tried and tested game principle shine out of puzzles, exploration and fighting. Every floor is full of loving details and secrets, in which ambitious players are occupied for a long time. The title has to endure small deductions in the B-note at the controls, because I had the problem from time to time to turn in the right direction with Luigi when things got hectic. Still a 'must have' for Christmas.

I am sure that we can still expect a lot from Moonlight Studios and will see it in the coming years. The potential is definitely there. Maybe it was also an attempt to start on three platforms at the same time that threw a little stone in the way of the deserved success.

Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise shows how well SEGA's excellent Yakuza recipe can be adapted to other topics. Although I saw the anime as a teenager, I was never a fan of it. This game entertained me well with its proven build but 40 hours and brought me closer to this world than ever before. The small innovations and deviations, such as driving a car are nice distinctions to SEGA's underworld epic. Overall, although I prefer the Yakuza series clear, but especially for fans of the template, this game could, conversely, ensure that they finally find about Yakuza. I'm looking forward to more licenses, which are implemented with this typical gameplay!

Tales of Vespera: Definitive Edition is a successful rejuvenation of the classic. The adaptation has become very good overall, even if the gameplay itself has some weaknesses. Still, this is one of the best J-RPGs of the year.

Of course, as a loyal Nintendo fan, I own New Super Mario Bros. U and its DLC on the Wii U and was a bit disappointed that Nintendo did not come up with something new for the deluxe version. Although Toadette and thus Princess Peach are a nice bonus and make some jump passages a lot easier. And also the technical implementation is very well. But again porting a six-year-old Mario game (+ DLC) with marginal changes and offering it for the full price tag is a bit overstated in my opinion. Either more content or a lower price would have been desirable.

Toki is a remake that nobody should have been waiting for. As wonderful as the graphics are, as well as the sound sounds, so annoying is the gameplay. The character dies quickly, often and unpredictably. The hero does not mind and at the same time moves slower than a snail. My recommendation is not to get the game!

In my opinion, Milestone RIDE 3 is close to creating the perfect motorcycle racing game. In addition to a variety of motorcycles with countless customization options, I also enjoyed the different tracks a lot. I especially like the open air tracks with their many details and is a good alternative to the official race tracks, which you already know from many other racing games. Both visually and the driving feeling could be compared to its predecessor, and so RIDE 3 offers the player a very authentic gaming experience that should entertain you for a long time.

Nairi: Tower of Shirin is a wonderful graphic adventure that entertained me very well. The story always remains interesting and with the intuitive gameplay based on touchscreen or Joycon, everyone can enter the oriental game world. In addition to the charming characters scores the loving look and the atmospheric background music. The puzzles vary a bit in their level of difficulty, but by talking with other people and pondering is no mystery too difficult. A game for young and old and also suitable for the current cold season.

I really want to like the game, but it just makes so much of a mistake that it's almost taken off the market and needs to be completely reworked. A role-play game without interaction with NPCs is simply an unfinished game, because even the ability to go on adventures with several players can not hide it.

If the technical issues with Gear Club Unlimited 2 were not an issue, the racing game would be the new racing reference on the Nintendo console. But Eden Games had probably time problems in the development and had to bring their racing game seemingly before Christmas in the shops. Even the online mode advertised in the game menu did not make it to the final game. And until now (06/01/2019), the developer has not added a patch to get the above problems under control, which will certainly not make buyers of Gear Club Unlimited 2 happier.

I was really surprised how good and addictive the gameplay of Book of Demons is. If you're worried about just having a simple Diablo clone, then you're definitely wrong, because the game knows exactly where it sets its own accents, and yet it's motivating enough to keep you busy for a long time. For me clearly a must-buy and a very strong title, which is recommended to any action RPG fan!
