I think this remaster is brilliant. Bugs and performance aside, it’s nearly everything I wanted. I do, however, feel that new players may still feel the age of some of the mechanics and the game’s overall composition. If you love Oblivion and this kind of RPGs in general, you will adore this remaster. It’s the best version of Oblivion to play and it will only get better with patches and time. A great job was done to drag it into the modern era while keeping some of the game’s original feel intact.
Xenoblade Chronicles X is a sprawling, deeply immersive experience that is familiar and comforting in its execution. It’s vast and lush and only limited by the fact that so much was learned across the last 10 years as the Xenoblade series has matured and improved over time. I would absolutely recommend JRPG fans alike take a look. It’s a really interesting spring board in the series, and with Switch 2 on its way this may well get some free enhancements to make it even prettier in the months ahead.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is probably my favourite in the series. Don’t get me wrong, I am not a ‘pure’ Assassin’s Creed fan but I really gelled with the mixture of great combat, fun exploration and an engaging narrative. That, paired with a great UI, toned down map and lack of hand-holding objectives and you have a ‘sure-fire’ winner.
I did not enjoy the Rose & Camellia Collection very much. The gameplay was not universally interesting, and while the concept is fairly novel, there is little depth here, either in the story or the combat. This would be fine for a cheaper experience, but coming in at such an expensive price point seriously hinders my ability to recommend it. While there are some decent pieces here, I do not recommend checking this one out.
Atomfall, for all its charm, is on the shallow side in terms of gameplay but that doesn’t mean it’s poor. We have been spoiled by intricate systems and high octane games recently. The slower overall pace is welcome and when the dial does go up it more than satisfies. Atomfall is fun and engaging from the first moment. A beautiful, atmospheric adventure awaits you when you boot up the game and it keeps going along pleasantly with each and every choice you make.
After many hours of gameplay, we can say that Sniper Elite: Resistance is an enjoyable addition to its franchise. With its combination of tactical action, realism and a well-constructed historical narrative, Sniper Elite is an essential title for fans. However, for any other audience it may be a game of little relevance or lack of importance. This is largely due to how feels as it is has been made for existing followers of the franchise.
As a package, Sorry We’re Closed is certainly no slouch. It features unique gameplay tied together with an immersive story and some excellent sound design. I can easily recommend it to fans of the survival horror genre, and I am certainly glad I got the chance to play it. It is a bit pricy compared to some other titles on the market, but the quality is certainly there to back it up.
Living Room is clearly aimed at kids and teens, but even as someone outside that target audience, I had a fun time crafting digital ecosystems in my living space. The creativity and charm kept me engaged for several sessions. While it may not hold long-term appeal for more strategy-minded players, it shines as a relaxing, family-friendly experience. Whether you’re playing with kids or just curious about mixed reality gaming, Living Room is worth a try—even if it feels more like a fancy tech demo than a fully fleshed-out game.
Human Fall Flat VR takes the beloved 2016 puzzle platformer and gives it a fresh twist in virtual reality. The marionette-style controls might be awkward at first, but they’re a brilliant way to immerse players in the game’s signature chaotic charm. Whether you’re playing solo or with friends, the game’s blend of physics-based puzzles and slapstick comedy makes for a hilarious and engaging experience.
As a 42-year-old man, Shave & Stuff clearly isn’t targeted at me. But despite that, I found it surprisingly fun and easy to pick up and play. Its accessible mechanics, laugh-out-loud moments, and creative possibilities make it a delightful addition to the Quest 3 lineup—especially for younger audiences or anyone looking for a lighthearted escape. While it may not become a VR staple for me, I can appreciate the game’s goofy charm and polished simplicity. If you’ve ever dreamed of running a salon where anything goes (and often does), this game is worth a shave and a shot.
Undisputed could fight Fight Night at its peak of glory hand to hand and, perhaps, win, although not by knockout, but by points. Undisputed is a must-have in the library of all boxing lovers and those looking for an experience closer to realism in the ring. Get into this ring with all confidence, it is the most beautiful and complete fight you will have had in a long time.
Overall, I did have fun with Atelier Marie Remake: The Alchemist of Salburg. However, the lack of an immersive story was a significant letdown, especially for an RPG. The gameplay, while basic was entertaining, especially in the beginning when I was immersed in optimizing my gameplay. However, since things are quite simple, the game does not provide anything particularly noteworthy or enticing. This title is by no means bad, but it did not leave a strong impact on me.
At the end of the day, I thought PRIM was fine. I expected more going in, as I like the publisher’s previous work. However, this game does bring a unique perspective to hell, with modern characters and writing. The puzzles, while fairly simple are nicely set up, and I enjoyed knowing that if I got lost, there were plenty of guardrails to keep me back on track. Further, the game experiments with unique styles of puzzles throughout my journey. Despite these neat features, the lack of a moving story combined with the relatively simple items made the game somewhat forgettable. PRIM has many great elements and is a decent choice overall, but I am not rushing to recommend it.
I found Batman: Arkham Shadow of the best VR titles I have played on the platform. It felt like a ‘full’ game rather than a tech demo like the first title and I think it’s well worth your hard-earned cash. It is enjoyable from start to finish and well worth the plaudits and awards the game has so far. If you love Batman, it’s a no-brainer and even if you don’t the gameplay and immersion are worth the entrance fee alone.
Spirit Mancer has some good ideas, I enjoyed the combat system and the card/monster collecting. I just wished a few of the extra mechanics and gameplay systems were dropped and more focus was put on the original and fun parts of the game. I do think if the reward system was tweaked and a bit more effort was made to make the sights and sounds of Spirit Mancer stand out, I would have enjoyed the game a lot more.
The House of Da Vinci VR captures the magic of the original while offering a uniquely immersive experience for Meta Quest 3 players. Its engaging puzzles, stunning visuals, and atmospheric audio make it a must-play for fans of historical mysteries and escape room games. While the limited movement options are a drawback, they don’t overshadow the brilliance of the game’s core design. If you’ve ever dreamed of stepping into the workshop of a genius and unraveling the secrets of the Renaissance, this is your chance.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is just utterly wonderful and thought provoking. It’s a hard review to write, without feeling like I’m over sharing the story. Its become one of those games where I’ve felt compelled to tell people, to “just play it”. It deals with some really dark aspects of humanity, it makes you question our real existence, and it labels fantasy at moments that feel like our reality.
Overall, I can easily recommend ANTONBLAST. It is a fun frantic platformer with a complex yet rewarding move set and a vast expanse of locales to explore. Enemies are cool, bosses are better, and the experience as a whole comes wrapped in a juicy campaign with thoughtfully animated characters. If the game sounds even remotely interesting, I strongly recommend that you check it out.
While Yum Yum Cookstar may not be the deepest cooking game on the market, it shines with its cute visuals, accessible mechanics, and lighthearted gameplay. It’s a fun, casual distraction for those looking for something colourful and charming, though it might not hold your attention for extended play sessions.
Trombone Champ: Unflattened is a great VR implementation of an already fun game. It has been translated into VR in a very loving and careful way. The tracking is superb, the menus are flawless and it has none of the VR messiness sometimes associated with the medium. Flat2VR Studios have done a magnificent job and I will certainly be keeping an eye on them in the future.
